I got into Jack Johnson around 3/4 years ago and thought he was excellent but I'm a bit sick of him now to be honest. I'm a bit fickle like that - when someone gets overplayed I stop liking them.

If you've ever been to Oz or NZ you hear Jack Johnson at every pub/club/party/bbq. He's got the surfer appeal.

He does write good songs though. Much prefer John Butler myself.

I've been listening to his first album recently because I bought a lady friend tickets for his gig in february. I had never heard of him until she mentioned him to me. It's definitely an oz/new zealand thing by all accounts. The first album is ok, you'd listen away to it without paying much thought to it. There would be other artists out there that are better than him though.
Limerick 37, its so shiny and new we dare not take the cover off.

          He of smooth voice.

He's good, but is mainly background music. Check out Rufus Wainwright, he's like a much less watered down, and infinitely more talented, Jack Johnson.
