Aye but it was in cinemas well into 2004, it won oscars in 2004 and most top movies polls for 2004 have it included.

Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?

It just goes to show how bad movies have got when some of the films mentioned above are regarded as 'films of the year'. With the exception of 'Return of the King', most of the other films mentioned are average at best, certainly when compared to films in years gone by. Even Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Scorsese are making crap films these days. I watch alot of movies, including Arthouse. I thought Lost in Translation was the biggest pile of ****e that I have seen in a long time. I've even watched it a second time, (maybe I was missing something?), and it was still ****e. An hour and a half of pain as far as I can see!

                          1. Best of Youth
                          2. Bubba Ho-Tep
                          3. The Fog of War (was released here in 2004)
                          4. The Bourne Supremacy
                          5. Touching the Void (saw in 2003 but is eligible for Oscars so I'll count it)

As for Eternal Sunshine, I thought it was good when I saw it but upon reflection I think it's a bloody awful movie.

Which means it had to be released in 2003 to qualify; but I'm just being anal.
