    Maxine Carr

A decision on the case of Maxine Carr is likely to be made in the next few days. She's been put forward for early release by the governor of Holloway Prison in London.

She'd be bound by the home detention curfew (HDC) scheme, where she would be fitted with an electronic tag and like Les Battersby she'd have to stay within her house during the curfew.

I'm not trying to start a debate about whether or not she should be released or how guilty she was in the first place.
I'm just wondering what kind of life she could possibly have considering how high profile the murder case was and how familiar she is to the general public.
Would her life be in constant danger is she were to be released?
I'd appreciate it if people responded on a practical and realistic level rather than an emotional level.

She would have to change her name if not her face similar to those children from the Jamie Bulger case in Liverpool.

Given the age those boys were when convicted and the time spent in prison they were less likely to be identified.
They were given new identities when released.
Maxine Carr would have no legal entitlement to such preferential treatment.

          Mabye she'll leave the country?
I won't go into what I think should happen to her (though I am strictly opposed to the death sentance so it's not that).
Really all these sentances have gone stupid-they say
"3 years in jail! Now you've done 1 in remands leaving you two years and we'll knock of 18 months for good behaviour and then let you out-see ya in 6 months"
That's what happend with Ca*r (or something along those lines).
Why not just give 6 months

In a nutshell I'd say gas Huntley and be done with it but give Carr a break, she told a few lies but I don't think for a minute that she thought he was guilty when she did. All these people taking the moral high ground and calling her a new Moira Hindley blah blah blah whatever need to grow up a little. To suggest that the punishment for lying should match that for the murder (at least) of two young girls makes a joke of the legal system.

And I'm aware that nobody has said that here but if I hear one more person say "I think she was worse because she's a woman" then I think I'll scweam and scweam and scweam. Like a woman.
The ball is round and has many surprises.

              Mob justice.

Does matter what she was convicted of, she's been treated different to other simply because shes famous.

Shocking that they could change the rules because they knew she was appealing.
              Oh no not them again
