    Premier League Players of Yore

    Rules are simple.

Simply name a random Premier League player of yore.

The naming of certain Premier League players of yore may open up further discussion.

The players will preferably not be high profile (Cantona, Lampard, Henry, Van Nistelrooy) and will preferably have played in the nineties or at least the early noughties.

    I'll start.

    Kepa Blanco (West Ham).

Thought he looked good during his brief spell on loan, I never knew why WH didn't sign him up permanently.

    Good thread!

Remember David Batty? He was a mainstay of some of my earliest fantasy football teams back in the early to mid 90's... great midfielder in his day. Found this a really interesting read.

'Nobody can get hold of him' - what happened to David Batty?
England midfielder David Batty vowed to have "nothing to do with the football industry" after retirement. As his former clubs Newcastle and Leeds prepare to meet, BBC Sport asks: what happened to him?
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

      Oyvind Leonhardsen (Wimbledon)

Pretty much emblematic of the Joe Kinnear era, when they were consistently punching well above their weight, and seems he still keeps in regular contact with AFC:
