I was at a few games of this competition recently. My little cousin is playing for Derry and District side Trojans F.C. in the under-16 section. They beat Shamrock Rovers 1-0 today and were easily the better team.
Have any of you been to previous competitions, or had (or have) anyone you know play in it? I narrowly missed out on a place in the Derry and District select to play in it one season and it destroyed me. Since then though, I've made an effort to support those I know playing in it. It's a great wee tournament, although it seems the number of foreign teams entering into it have fallen.
