Ezekial, small question, did the pitch in Oriel help UCD with their passing game? I ask as there'd been the discussion on artificial grass and after watching 2 international games this week on the stuff I can see how if a team wants to play football the surface really does help. Traditionally Oriel was always a good surface, though some of the football played on it was better suited to the fair green in Mullacrew.

First time seeing UCD this year so I can't compare, but certainly they tried to playing passing football.Ezekial, small question, did the pitch in Oriel help UCD with their passing game? Whatever about the bounce being slightly different to a grass pitch in good condition, the surface is always level and true so it suits passing teams - playing footie on the deck means that the bounce is mostly irrelevant.
I'd imagine that the UCD players appreciated the even surface with the current condition of their own pitchComment

We played nice stuff out in Galway too, so I'd imagine it's not Dundalk's pitch that's the difference but out own at present. Maybe we'll be more of a threat at home once that improves, as it will in the coming games.
Couldn't make the game last night, but it sounds like we played nice stuff without ever really being much of a threat up front. Could be a long season watching Bohs' accounts if that continues.Comment

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.Comment

Longford 1-0 up v Athlone. Jacques Morley direct from a corner apparently.
2-0 now, Austin Skelly against his old club. Gillespie on the bench for anyone semi-interested.Last edited by Longfordian; 02/04/2011, 6:54 PM.The looser the waistband, the deeper the quicksand..Comment

The lad is good, no doubt there. Tons of footballing ability. However, with their defence and lack of cutting edge, UCD will struggle.Comment

its just got boring
