It's a personal thing Dodge. The way loads of supporters in England have walked away from the game because of high ticket prices and Nazi like security at games only to be replaced by tourist and day trippers their stance makes no real difference. Just me taking this stance will makes no difference in the greater picture if more followed it would because we don't get day trippers here. I'm not going to jump every time the FAI tell me to and I'm happier for taking my stance.

What do you think would happen if a club refused to play mid week fixtures?

That backbone you refer to would be seriously weakened by the deduction of points and a heafty fine with the threat of expulsion from the league for a repeat offence.

Perhaps you refer to clubs jointly taking a stance. Thats even more far fetched! The Participation Agreement invests total control in the FAI

Next season with the 12 team PD, this will only decrease games by 3 for the year, but I do hope the FAI have the sense to stretch the season out to ensure games are played once a week, that should be possible over 40 weeks (Although they will prob have a break for 2 weeks for euro 2012)

This country/league simply cannot sustain situations where fans are being asked to pay into games twice over 3 or 4 days. In our magazine editorial last night, the point was made that fans are picking their games now and clubs are suffering, losing out on valuable cash flow.

This makes 3 of the 5 games from last night that were under or just 1,000. Madness moving games to last night to accommodate this nonsene game on at the Aviva tonight.

I think fans would accept the move of fixtures had it been Ireland and Scotland tonight. But re-scheduling games to accommodate a nothing game between the North and Wales' 'reserve' sides basically is an absolute joke.

Madness indeed. But with the amount of mid week fixtures this year it looks as if some supporters are getting fed up with playing 2-3 games a week. With the league struggling to get people to go to games on weekends what do the clubs and the FAI expect to happen mid week? Getting more people through the gates should be a priority.

Was that the official attendance? From watching it on TV I would of said closer to a thousand

im presuming a lot of those would have been LOI fans who had gratefully had their Friday evenings freed up.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
