I’ve watched village a lot the last couple seasons, same as all the north side teams, they have been by far the biggest improvement this season, when they’re at their best they’re a very good side, but like previously said, very erratic, can play lovely ball, don’t fancy them in a battle though, they had grattan on the edge twice and couldn’t handle the front door being beaten down, left them back into it twice and lost on penalties. Dunlea has done a brilliant job to make them respectable after they were more or less gone after a decade of being the premier whipping boys. The one thing I will say is I don’t fancy them to win anything next year. I other than the lad Zack(who i think is a brilliant young player) all the signings parades around were either at the very end of their prime, or past it, the average age of the team must be around 35. They don’t have time to improve, felt like it was now or never for that particular group.
They’re short a good centre half, that Keegan lad is a very good defender, the young fella is very raw. And I feel short a midfielder. Might find it difficult to get young blood in as there’s a lot of teams to choose from above in mayfield for a young fella, and if the rumours of a 35s team are true then they’re down the likes of Pa long, Stephen long, Colin hickey etc. all still solid capable players.
Could be all there to play for next season if the rumours about half the coachford team going to rockmount but I don’t see it for village. They’re an entertaining team to watch I will give them that thoughComment

I've heard talk of shandon/cathedral merging. Rumours of blackstone aswell but couldn't be 100% certain on them.
As for teams leaving haven't heard much but will a few teams follow what grangevale have done and target easy trophies over in shipping leagueComment

The Hungry Tigers are rumoured to be merging with Knocka is the word in the street. Give Coachford a Battle next seasonComment

The pride of the CBL , a goal difference of -182
They have conceded more goals than there is posts in the CBL thread.
They cant even blame their 58 year old Polish centre half for that result.Last edited by KevinJBarry; 14/04/2025, 8:36 PM.Comment

The worst thing about this was the team that beat them CCC fc put a post up on Facebook like it was something to be proud not mentioning the tigers only had 10 players and let’s call spade a spade are not footballers. Actually worse than that was them liking their own post. Like a dog licking his own ********.Comment

Just looking at the leagues I would say Bweeng, Parkview and Richmond won’t be back. I know some folded early in season but just from looking. It’s just hard to know I think looking at some of the leagues teams are losing most teams only exceptions are the UCCs who will be in the league next year regardless numbers never an issue there.Comment

Bweeng Wudnt be far from City and Mallow so I would not be surprised if the better developed players are being poached that way but I hope your right be a shame to see a club adults team fold if they have a decent underage set up.Comment

The reason bweeng can’t keep players is because of the horrendous pitch. Shocking setup they have facilities wise.Comment
