Knocknaheeny Celtic are definitely top 5 teams in the AUL currently maybe top 3.
They have a fabulous side especially the front line, the manager is doing a great job and i`m absolutely delighted t see it.
As for top clubs that`s a different story, they wouldn`t make the top 12.
Knocka Celtic are serial folders aided by the leagues policy of allowing teams back in at levels above 3rd division.
It`s the age old sure they`ll walk the 3rd division and it`s not fair on those teams argument.
EVERY time a team folds and tries to return it should be to Div 3 in my opinion.
You should not be allowed to continually run a cycle of winning 1st div and cups, then winning prem A within a year or 2 and then after 1 or 2 years Prem when you have a bad season and plyers leave you fold for 2 or 3 years before starting again in Div 1.
My hope for this Knocka Celtic team is that they go premier next year, challenge the big teams. When the tough times come they dig in and keep the club going even if it means back to prem A or Div 1 and working to go back up again, and that they never again fold.
I`m not judging why they`ve folded previously etc by the way as it`s a tough place to be but it can`t happen as much as it does.Comment

I agree something needs to be done for serial folders and definitely a reason Knocka lose a lot of respect in some people’s eyes.
But from a structural point of view they can’t end up in the lower divisions.
The lower divisions must be for newer clubs looking to develop and grow or second teams.
For the development of the league clubs must feel they can be competitive at their own level.
Without this you will loose teams.
I’m not sure what the correct answer is!!
I heard a good one recently Castleview B refusing to play Banteer in St Coleman’s Park in the Final of the Michèal’s Cup as Banteer play their home games on Astro.
This is one of the best yet!!!!Comment

Good teams can play anywhere, do you think villages pitch has worried coachford in the last few years? I’m not a fan of Astro but that is nonsenseComment

Banteer also loses games on the astro and wins some aswell and so does our second team they wins games on grass and loses on grass it's football who ever told you the information is living in cuckoo land boy.Comment

Castleview B won well in St.Colemans last season when they were Grattan so i doubt they`ve a big issue with the venue. Either way that will be a good game tbh. 2 very decent sides for that standard. I`ll go watch that.I agree something needs to be done for serial folders and definitely a reason Knocka lose a lot of respect in some people’s eyes.

I hear what you`re saying about the development in AUL 3 & 2, that said you can`t have a rejuvenated knocka walking every trophy in AUL 1 every 4 or so years either giving teams at around that level even less chance of success over a period of time.
I feel if you put them AUL 3 they find it slightly more difficult to sign people up to that project each time than they do currently and that gives a fairer reflection of the Club`s real level.
People and leagues have to remember it`s not a starting 11 that should dictate what division they go into it`s taking the club including committee into consideration and if they`ve folded numerous times then that`s obviously not strong enough other clubs have to build more slowly with recruiting guys that will stick around to attain the longevity that Knocka don`t bother their hole with. No point in clubs like that signing amazing players for 2-3 successful seasons then folding over and over again.
A team with more than 1 fold in the previous x no. of years should go 3rd division every time (potentially even 3rd division starting on -10 points etc) if they are serious then they need to put the years into building their club back u to prem level.
That all sounds bad but honestly i like Knocka Celtic and say these things as much for their sake as anything else.
The area could do with a solid consistent club and i think they should have enough catchment to sustain that despite the competition up there for players with castleview, grattan etc. (there are 15-20 players coming out of youths every year minimum at Castleview that can`t all go senior)Comment

Village are a club over 35 years old . Played in the AUL since the club started . Won all the leagues up to premier . 35 seasons unbroken a real AUL club . Same for Grattan . Knocka are an absolute joke of a club . Win something fold head down to blarney street fold again and come back as knock again . A shambles and will win nothing . Thanks to Knocka and blarney street for pulling out for keeping village up ??It's actually embarrassing to put (coachford-grattan utd) in the same bracket of terms of bigger clubs with village, watergrashill and Springfield, just because watergrasshill had a good season last season the a big club kop on to yourself and Springfield what have they actually won in the aul??? Village have been fighting relegation for the last 20 years they won an aoh cup few years ago and that determines them a big club kop on again like village should of been relegated few times in previous years only for clubs to pull out of league saved their grace, village are like a new girlfriend promises everything from the start and after 2-3 months fades away and delivers nothing.
Watergrasshill Castleview and Springfield and underage teams I think that would make them a bigger club then clubs that don’tComment

This has been a topic for a while here. What defines the biggest club?
Numbers? Trophies? Teams? Schoolboys' structure? All of them together?
Springfield has a very good schoolboys' setup, but nothing really goes to the adult level. Coachford is relatively new to the kids' section.
I honestly think teams fold in the northside because there are so many to choose from. Like Midleton, Carrigaline, Ringmahon, and even Coachford all have huge areas to pull from, with no competition. On top of that, it takes a lot to run a team—insurance, land, etc.
My answer would be the view overall but over the last 10 years bar recently they havnt really been bothered with the Aul two Prem A titles in like 15 years is shocking but when its your 2nd,3rd or 4th team does it even matter.Comment

Big game in Div 1 tonight, a win for Banteer and they’re as good as up, a win for Los Zarcos and they’re right back in the title race.
Expect Banteer to win a close game.Comment

Most of that Grattan team is ex bohs ref, that knocka squad split between blarney street and glenthorn when they folded, blarney street folded, glenthorn looked decent for two years then 2/3 of them went to grattan for a year and back to knocka last seasonComment
