Isn’t the USL just Donegal and Derry?
I’m wondering why they couldn’t get a team together for the USL but can for the Donegal Junior League.City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

Short answer..money.
The Ulster Senior League has become an absolute disaster of a league. From once being the aim of every junior club to get to that level, now nobody wants to touch it.
In the past decade or so, Buncrana Hearts, Swilly Rovers, Kildrum Tigers, Drumkeen United have all left the league. Finn Harps and Derry City Reserve sides both had spells out of the league during that time too. There have been other sides in the league in the past twenty years who dropped back to junior football as well, Culdaff, Quigleys Point, St Catherines and a few others have dipped their toes in.
What should be the pinnacle of junior/intermediate football here is seen as a no-go area now. Letterkenny Rovers pump in big money into their team and Cockhill Celtic have the pick of Inishowen and a few quid to offer them, so nobody else up there wants in.
Donegal League and Inishowen League won't work together with the Ulster Senior League to form a proper top tier intermediate structure.
They're going ahead with just five teams this season, two of those reserve sides in Harps and Derry. It's a disgrace.Comment

And isn't Monaghan United due to join the 2021/2 USL season? It was announced on their facebook last month. https://www.facebook.com/ulstersenio...06680626058906Comment
