Jeez that was brutal. He didn't strike the penalty against Hungary cleanly either. Not sure you'd want him on penalty duties for the playoffs.

Have to at least give him credit for continuing to volunteer despite all his misses. But at some point management has to intervene.

Who else do we have for pennos?

Idah is 11/12 for his career as per here: https://footystats.org/players/repub...adam-uche-idah

He's not always on the pitch though.

Manning and Azaz would both be players I think could develop as specialists. But ya, this is ana Achilles heel for Parrot now and he should avoid them for a while. I thought the same about the Ireland penalty, he scuffed it and got lucky. Might put a different colour on the fact that Coleman took the ball first.

Nothing to take away from all his other achievements. Doesn't need to be perfect at everything and I'd happily take this as the weak side of his game over regularly scoring from open play.

Especially when he didn't hear the ref's whistle and stood over it for an age - delaying taking a kick has been linked with an increased chance of missing.

Couldn’t disagree more, particularly at club level (assuming they continue to allow him to take them). The more he takes, the more he’ll improve and it’s an important skill for top strikers.

Robbie Brady when fit and playing should be taking Ireland's penalties. 12 out of 12 in his career + big game mentality... https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robb...spieler/128229

That doesn't include penalty shootouts. I can remember 4 that Idah's been in, scoring 3.

He scored against Liverpool and Spurs for Norwich and scored one aganst Rangers and missed one against Kairat for Celtic. So that's 14/16 and if you include underage internationals, it ends up with 20/22 (but both misses coming in the last 2 years)

Scored a great penalty for Ireland V Netherlands I remember

I do love that Parrott backs himself taking penalties but I agree that, if fit and on the pitch, Brady is our man for penalties.
Folding my way into the big money!!!

Up to 20 goals this season for club and country. That's seriously impressive. he could have a couple more having watched the highlights.
If I question Liam Scales ability to play intl football, refer me to this signature & his peformance at home at lb vs Port on Nov 13 2025.

Joint third top scorer in this season's Eredivisie with eight goals in ten games. everyone ahead of him has played at least three games more
The top scorer, Feyenoord's Ayasa Ueda, has a ridiculous 18 goals in 15 games

Just to make some old men feel older, I see Jan Vennegor of Hesselink's 19 Yr old son Lucas is on one of those lists.

Jaysus. Might have to dust off a copy of championship manager now.
22 leagues and 26 cups and....well....none of you will ever catch up if we're being honest.
