I hope MON drew more from the Algeria v Germany game than Algeria weren't up to much in terms of talent but they had great spirit.

O'Neill to take in Dundalk v Hadjuk Split in the Europa League this week. Quoted in Indo today saying he wants to cast his eye over Dundalks 'young guns', presumably Towell and Boyle.

Also said something to the effect that even if they play well that doesn't mean anything in terms of whether they can play international level.

I know there is more to what you are getting at here. I hope we are wrong in how we analysed the analyser, but there were some worrying/strange snippets from him at this world cup.

What did you make of Martin on ITV the last few weeks?
The Beeb/ITV panel banter is frequently cringe inducing isn't it?
It can be very stilted at times.... to be fair, Martin was perfectly fine at it and
it seemed like a nice gig... all the same there are times when it all seems beneath a credible international manager to have to engage in occasional panel banalities....

Just when on topic of the World Cup and Panels.... there were times when an ITV/BBC panel were talking and the camera would zoom in on a pretty girl in the crowd etc etc... and linger for a number of moments as if almost tempting a panellist to make a dodgy comment.... and suffer the consequences of our politically correct society

I think they should have left the tweet, lull the Germans into complacency.

In fact we should apologise in advance for what we know will be a poor performance as we are "in a period of transition".

from the Irish team, we are in a period of transition and hope to be able to give your lads a decent game in about 30 years time. All the best. #FAIreland."

Hope he has his ticket. Game is close to a sell out.

Arguably Messrs Towell, Boyle, Gannon, Hoban, Horgan & Shields are well able to play at a higher level. While Towel is the most promising and receives the most accolades, the other 5 are equally as good as towel in their respective positions.
I would worry more about losing Boyle or Shields in the transfer window and the damage or would do to our title aspirations as opposed to losing Towel
