Read like a beef to me... "I love Roy Keane. I actually liked him when he was at United but then he signed for Celtic..."

I remember Gallagher saying one time that he's half Irish, half English, as both his parents are Irish but he was born and raised in Manchester. Seemed clear enough.

The Indo is a rag though.... how did that happen? Was it always so bad? Seems bizarre that one of our main broadsheets could be so tabloid-ish and trashy.

Well it's up to him. Know plenty of similar who wouldn't claim to be the least bit English.

But even that claim's much more credible than the Indo' to be anything more than a pretty useless paper.

Hasn't he always said he supports Ireland in football, while identifying himself with Union Jack imagery (guitars, promo pics...)?

Good job he's not actually a footballer.

He has a beef with Roy Keane and anything Man Utd related, but likes/supports Celtic, therefore it got confusing when Keane signed for Celtic.

think he said refused an approach from the FA to do a World Cup/European Championships song for England but he'd do one for the FAI

Noel likes Celtic, he has been to a few of the games. How his quote reads is slightly misleading....

I think what he meant is that he liked Roy (even when at United) so when he moved to Celtic he went up another level in terms of
                appreciation.

If you listen to the Irishman abroad podcast (would recommend - Niall Quinn, Ronnie Whelan, Darren O'Dea all brilliant on it) then there is an advert/intro at the start with Noel stating 'I had an Irish upbringing'. Fairly sure both his parents are from Mayo. His mum definitely is.

I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

I get it off iTunes but I know he also has his own website. Just type in Irishman abroad into google. The boxing ones are good as well. Enjoyed the Ken Doherty interview as well.

I think Gallagher's saying he liked Roy at United, in spite of him playing for a team he loathed, but then Roy signed for Celtic, so he liked him even more, or came to love him even.
