Took a while but the stream finally started for me. Still 0-0 after 66 minutes. Are we any use? Looks like a decent side we have out.

Ireland have been playing with 10 men since the 52nd minute. Alex Ferguson's favourite player Sean McGinty's season going from good to great after he was dismissed for a reckless challenge. Derry's Barry McNamee and, I think, Cork's Daryl Horgan are on.

Ended in a scoreless draw. Good result considering we played most of the second half game with 10 men and it seems we still created scoring opportunities. Good depth in the squad too and with the Aston Villa crew coming through plus the likes of Baba, there is room for genuine optimism for the future.

Barry McNamee did very well when he came on and was no slouch at left back after McGinty was sent off. He showed that is capable of upping his game and that he is comfortable playing at different positions which can only be a good thing at this stage in his career. McGinty, however, does not convince me at left back. I think he is more of a centre back.

I was impressed by both goalkeepers, but McDermott had much, much more to do naturally enough, and he was confident. The defence was extremely well organised and Anthony O'Connor was solid alongside Duffy who was doing the organising at the back.
