I am heading to Waterford on Friday and want to stay in a hotel.

Hi there, well there are a few hotels in the area, the Ramada hotel is about a half a mile out the cork road form the rsc, also there is a travel lodge just next to the RSC, about 2mins walk, there also is the Granville hotel on the quays and further down the Tower hotel.
Hope this helps , cheers and see u at the match .

By all accounts it is.Its not really that close to the city centre, its across the river down the back of Ferrybank, set in countryside location.access to city would probably have to be by taxi or if you're driving yourself.A better bet for you might be Tower Hotel, centrally located closer to city centre and RSC.
Anthenaeum and Ramada are the newest of the hotels mentioned
