    Various Suspensions...

From November 19th the following are banned:

Alan Cawley - following the red against Bohs got two games, although he's already served one (I think).

Tony McDonnell - for reaching four penalty points.

Mick O'Donnell - for reaching eight.

All of them will miss the Pat's game, which is on November 21 (again, I think).

Also, Baz Ryan got FIFTEEN months for being found guilty of taking a banned substance. Jesus, that was harsh.

That's a huge loss for us against Pat's, if we're still fighting for survival at that stage then losing 3/4 of our midfield won't exactly be a help.
And stay out of Bumtown, ya no talent bum.

Also, the only other side of the bottom three to've been hit by a suspension was Drogheda United. Pat Scully got one game having reached eight points.

Judging from what I've heard about his performances this season that's a GOOD thing for the Drogs...

Bugger. At least they're around for the Drogs game, which is arguably more important.

Cawley's ban is for his second red card of the season (after Cork). There's an automatic extra ban for repeat offenders.

On the plus side, though - great win against Derry last night, and great to see Robbie Martin back amongst the goals too! Should build up his confidence for the run-in!

If they get twelve penalty points, do they get their licence suspended? Can we then get deducted points for playing them without a licence? And is this what happened to Paul Marney?

If we stay up, I'm going to sing Bazza every time we score against Rovers.

Seriously now, this is the first drugs case in the eL, right? If so, then they're presumably just making an example of him. Besides, a three month ban right now would cost Rovers the use of him for all of four games.

$hite, who will we have in midfield so? Johnny Martin is out for the season I think. That leaves us Darrgh Ryan, Whelan, McWalter maybe and someone off the under 21s?

What about Gaffney? Scored a cracker in the Universities league against the Sh!tes in what was a decent team (included Davey among others).

He'd be the "someone off the under 21s" so. It's still a very big game to throw him into for his second game.

He'd be someone very definite off the U-21s, as opposed to hoping that we had someone there!

Remember, he was thrown into his debut against Shamrock Rovers just after he was bought. Can't get much bigger than that! And he's had plenty of experience in Division One, and in Tolka in the FAI Cup. Don't see why he can't do a job if called on.

Play Rooney and Robbie Martin up front, and have Gallen and Griffin in midfield. McWalter plays right wing a la last night, and Hughie Davey returns on the left wing - or at left back with dazza pushing up.

                    Gallen in midfield???

McWalter didn't play last night I don't think.

                        Yeah it was Whelan.
