    UCD versus Athlone Town 07/08/2009

The damage for for tis game is already pretty severe.
Ronan Finn (suspended) and Chris Mulhall likely to join him after his second booking against Waterford Utd on Tuesday. Robbie Creevy out aswell, his injury could put him out for a while also.

On the plus side the fixtures and league table align so there is an opportunity to go top of the table this evening. And we should take every opportunity we are given.

Brennan's on a three league games without conceding a goal. (Just thought I would throw that to give the game an extra edge.)

Sorry lads, going nowhere with a keeper like that. There is way better in the LSL & we need it.

How has that PA man of yours not been mentioned on here before? He's an absolute nutter!

I will take your post as appreciation of his efforts.
If by 'nutter' you mean a person who provides clear, accurate information and repeats important, relevant information then yes, yes indeed he is a 'nutter' as you first stated.
He is both respected and appreciated at the UCD Bowl too.

Absolute legend ... Although I hope he has an alarm on his house as if there were any burglers in the crowd they will know he's away on 2 weeks holidays :-)

Needs a new watch though ... Substitution for Athlone on ... Well late on in the game :-)

Stu has big shoes to fill next season!

Michael's great. He'll be missed next year, especially with the eejit they have replacing him.

Hard to disagree really, but we've basically built an entire new team this year, and barring a keeper and arguably a forward, we've done very well. I'd expect a few new players next year for a proper tilt at the title.

Oh, and Michael's the second best PA in the league, ever.

                    The starting 11 was:
                    1. Brennan
                    2. Shortall
                    3. Nangle
                    4. Boyle
                    5. E McMillan
                    6. Bolger
                    7. Matthews
                    8. Roche
                    9. Kilduff
                    10. D McMillan
                    11. Ward

Leahy, Reilly, Rusk, Purcell and Barron were on the bench but I'm not sure about their numbers.

I think numbers 6 and 9 were booked for Athone along with at least 2 others.

Reilly was 13 when he came on anyway. I think Rusk was 15 but not fully certain. There's bound to be somebody with a programme that took note of the stuff.

If only there was some manner of video we could look at to relive the game...

Think you're right on the numbers. Timmy would have been 14, which leaves Mick Leahy at 12 and Ger at 16.

If you want to watch 90 minutes of video footage to find out who got booked, fire away! I'd imagine Athlone would have the information more easily.

Actually I think I put the subs up here in the order they were on the teamsheet, so that would be correct. One of the teams had the sub keeper as 20, I don't know which.
