This is the competition for the Leinster Senior Division Clubs?
I don't know how long it's in existence (or it's predecessor, if any).

Around the time Pegasus FC of Bird Avenue competed last in that Division, (very early 1990's) they reached the FAI Cup 1st round (last 32) and won the Metro . one of those years.
But I don't know about the/a UCD team.
We shouldn't have been eligilble by the 1980's, if UCD were out of the League/Division.
