I'm not sure. I don't know if him only been signed as an amateur last year makes a difference to the two year compensation rule.

      I think it would.

Conor Sammon being linked with a move to Pat's. IF we could get him on loan, that'd be an Alan Cawley-esque transfer!

Seems close to a done deal by what Tony Mc said last night, apparantly. Didn't see it myself so don't know what exactly he said.

He said something like "From what I hear, Sammon is going to Pats". He said the same about a few other moves. I don't know how good Tony's sources are!
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

Didn't he skinny-dip in the fountain of eternal talent when he was younger. He would of come across alot of rumours in his position in Irish Football, but I don't know how he decides to mention one and not another.

Would definitely improve our options on the left wing.

Last Friday Pete Mahon expressed disappointment on losing out to Linfield for midfielder Phillip Mulryne. However, the Linfield move has fallen through now.

Well apparently 'the Blues' are watching their pennies and are in the market for a striker after seeing a number of them leave the club in a short space of time recently.

The report says he's not enough of a forward for them. Strange one.

I hope we make an attempt to sign Derek Glynn from Galway. Could already be on his way to Dundalk though. Fantastic finisher, very quick and has a nice first touch. He would be our no.1 striker if we got him.

Georgescu has signed for Shels. Wouldn't have minded him.

Same here. Aidan O'Keeffe gone to Bray on loan too. Hope we are at least trying to sign some of these players.

In the programme last week it says that we have an Eastern European and somebody over from England on trial. I was told that the player from England is a 26 yo school teacher.

Fair play, I think he played all the game versus Dundee United.

We have hqad school teachers in our midst before, can anyone remember Mr. Dermot Keely.

Pete Mahon was an unhappy man last week when a bit of internet research revealed that the Slovakian striker he was looking to monitor in Monday night's friendly with Dundee United turned out to be a right back.

Through a contact in the college, Mahon was put in touch with an individual who recommended this particular player with a pedigree at Slovakian Premier League level.

That much was true, until it emerged that this strength was in the defensive area. And the profession of the person to blame? "I'll give you a clue", says Mahon, "A five letter word, that starts with the letter a, followed by a g."

The students' search for a front man will continue, but rest assured the Slovakian agent will not be receiving any calls.
