    Saturday afternoons didn't work

Having experienced Friday night football under the floodlights at Belfield for the first time since the last Pat's game at home (I wasn't in Ireland for the few other times this season) I think we can safely say Friday evenings are a lot more enjoyable that Saturday afternoons. That's the first time I've come back from Belfield this season with a hoarse voice. There seemed to be a fair few willing singers there last night who either weren't there on Saturdays or couldn't be arsed in the lazy weather conditions.

Have to disagree and not because of the steak. The place looks so grim in the evening while it's much nicer it daylight, easier to realx an enjoy the game.

You mean quieter to enable you to conduct your mercenary work?

If you want to relax and enjoy the game you should stay on the hill side. We've got a duty to create the best atmosphere we can for the player to give them an extra push. I didn't have any problem enjoying the game last night. In fact I enjoyed it a lot more than the Saturday games. And I don't know how anyone other than a neutral could be relaxed in such a tight game.

Am I the only one who notices this?

That said, the lads could give us some form of acknowledgement after the game. Time after time our lads trod straight to the dressing room when the final whistle blows as the other team go over to applaud their fans. To be fair Darren Quigley seems to do this but never notice anyone else doing it.

I also prefer Friday evenings. The atmosphere at Belfield last night was much better than any afternoon games I've been to. I thought we made more noise than usual. We need more chants, though.

At my old club Olimpija, I also found that evenings worked better because of the floodlights.

Ye I noticed this too. Alan Mahon in Sligo was the only time I've noticed anything.

Robbie Doyle was very good for acknowledging the supporters, Micko was good for a while as well.
