More importantly, he scored a cracking goal on his debut.

Fair enough! Signed from Wayside Celtic; played in pretty much every position possible which includes the word "right" in it, and made his debut the day the fanzine mentioned the stony grey fields of Monaghan.

Joins such luminaries as Derek Doyle, Damo Dupuy, Colm Kierans, Willie Doyle and Robbie Doyle in scoring on his debut.

He was in the Irish amateur squad earlier in the season - granted in a squad of 43.

He played against Killester in the Second Round of the FAI Cup alright.

He seems to be a good player alright. He is what we were lacking on the right wing- someone who will run at the defence. Compare Kavanagh to Doyle tonight- one gets the ball and runs with it, the other stops and passes the ball.

I was speaking to someone who is connected with Wayside last year (or maybe the year before ) and he really rated Kavanagh - said that he'd do a good job for any team in the country. Sounds a good buy

I thought he did well when he came on against you. Had a mazy run where he beat a few people. He's certainly the most out and out winger type I've seen play for UCD.

Seemed to be in a more defensive position than against Waterford or Longford. Still, another trademark (can we call it that now?) run which probably should have produced a goal. If he can keep doing that every game, we'll be laughing!
