    Rescheduled Longford game

Has anyone noticed it's on Tuesday the 4th of July, the same day as the first World Cup semi final? Why not the Monday when there's no World Cup games?

Am I the only one who notices this? Is there a mistake on the thread? Is it in fact Monday?

No, it's Tuesday as far as I know. Will confirm.

You'll be lucky to get a three figure attendance in that case. You'll see tonight's attendance and how this one can only be worse going up against an even bigger game.

Definitely Tuesday. We've been up against Dublin in Croker in the Championship on a Bank Holiday weekend on a changed kick-off time against a team with negligible away support before; can't see it going that low. (Jinx!! ) Don't know why it's down for Tuesday, but think we can only get the World Cup out of the way and get back to consolidating the Saturday crowds. Have had bad days for games this season (two games on Bank Holidays, two games midweek during the World Cup), but the others have been solid enough attendances really.

Word is that the league themselves fixed the match date. Utter stupidity as usual. They wanted to get Longford playing some of their postponed games as soon as possible because they've a few to get through and the possibility of more as Cup games and Europe cause problems. It wouldn't surprise me, though, if the league simply never bothered looking to see what would clash.

But of course like the failure to send the referee to one of our home games last season it won't be the FAI's fault it will be the League's about the re-fixture!

Or they arranged it for that date so they can have an excuse to kick us out of the league...
