He continued the tradition of English managers at Showsgrounds after the departure of Paul Cook in 2011. He got a contract extension after two good seasons (only coach in Rovers history who won the two biggest domestic trophies). He has achieved a very good record against Derry City so far (5-1-0, 13:4). A former England internacional Gary Stevens is his assistant coach.
