I agree with you tiktok, Roddy did the same thing in Malta, all these investors lining up to take control. Maybe I misheard, but at the time he was taking over in Malta he brought one of his sidekicks, John O'Connor, with him in "invest", which never happened, and now this same man was down in Cork with him last week. The "Russians" he approached while still in Malta and tried to convince them to join him in Cork, the week BEFORE he left the club (this was one of the real annoyances for the Maltese according to my buddy in HSBC). I just feel he'll still be trying to get a stake somehow, and if he does.....

Interesting on 96fm, the assistant manager there but no Roddy. And staff other than "close associates" of Coughlan.

Players wont play while Coughlan is owner, even if they are paid.

except for tonight, they'll play tonight as its a fundraiser but they won't play any competetive games.

Is that including the players Roddy has brought in/lined up or just the ones already under contract?.

              I presume those under contract.

We cant sign anyone else cos of the embargo so the rest of the lads are just training and couldnt play competitively anyway

Fair enough. Even Tom has to see sense soon, can't understand why he doesnt just announce that he's agreeable to the takeover pending formalities. Nobody seems to have any idea where he put in all this money.

That was just Coughlans gimp Meaney saying the FORAS licence cannot be used for a club called Cork City and pulled another name from his home in cloud cuckoo land.

Probably part of the reason he's so opposed to a due diligence.

Is it true that Meaney [Cork City Licencing Officer as I understand it] publicly admitted on 96FM that the licence application would not be ready for the deadline?

In fairness they've used pretty much every other possible name on Leeside by now...

But Derry have now shown us the way. You simply wind up the company, keep the same name and pretend nothing happened

Not if someone owns the name you want to use and doesn't want you to have it or you can't afford to buy it......

I'll go with 'Cork Rangers' or 'Cork Unknowns' as the name for the 14th senior club on Leeside.

Im sure the C.R.S.C would be backing that one alright.

                                Not exactly the same.

The main difference between Cork and Derry is that the Derry board stood aside and agreed to liquidation (allowing NewCo to be immediately established and purchase the trading name from Wellvan), whereas Tom has kept fighting the FAI's attempts to do the same in Cork.

Also, whilst Derry have shafted the bulk of their creditors, if you want to get into specifics, the paragon of virtue that is Shamrock Rovers came through examinership all shiny and clean, paying its creditors what may well turn out to be less than Derry City will pay back when all told. People seem to have forgotten that.
