it was tsdl league and cup goals for saints i was wondering....i think hes on 7? clonmel celtic how many has kennedy? oldbridge how many has ur top guy? peake villa? town fan coady?
I'm sure Saints will now try to sign a top goalscorer to replace Alan, but are there any of his class around. I don't think so...

my point den is there is in terms of end product.....clonmel celtic have one in kennedy......town have on in coady and oldbridge in leahy have a more regular scorer that alan and villa have barry ryan....when aoron moroney is fit i really hope we sign him....doesnt seem to be playin or training with town?
he might not have had the best of spells in tipp but Alans record in limerick speaks for itself,a fine footballer who no doubt will prove all his critics wrong in the future

ya moroney would be a good signing. dont fancy any of the rest to do it when it matters, perhaps kennedy

think the polish guy for villa would be a good signing, saw him score 2 at cooke park and was peakes best attacker
hooper74
04/02/2009, 8:27 PM
was happy with kennedy when he was here...always thought if we had a partner for him he would do even better....alan might have actually suited kennedt a lot physique wise....ryan has probably scored 20 goals but like you said when it matters....il judge him over the next 12 weeks.....for me moroney is number 1 and has been a long time
ronburgundy
04/02/2009, 8:35 PM
doubt it very much that he has 20 goals, unless he has scored a good few against the weaker sides. saw him twice against town and once against saints this year and he figured little. not a top two player.

i think hes probably his own worse enemy ron in terms of his attitude and behaviour.....he certainly doesnt endear himself to anyone down here but i have said it here before i do think he is a very good player and probably gets 20 every year but people struggle to discuss him objectively but thats down to his own doing...i e mailed the tsdl site for confirmation on goals...i think moroney and kennedy at saints would be interesting partnership...contrasting styles...aoron holds the ball up excellently and paul likes to run in behind

ah hes a decent junior player alright, and thats being objective. i dont really know much about his attitude or character, i leave tha sort of judgement to the younger lads that can still play the game. just think peake have better players is all. and i honestly think moroney hasnt played well in years, very easy score when your team is hammering everyone

i actually think villa could sneak the title. what about mick ryan? excellent player. think he is captain down there, a real leader that may deliver the league
hooper74
04/02/2009, 8:57 PM
from matches i have been at i have always thought his attitude to opponents and people on the line was needless and it takes away from the fact he is one of their better players....yeah i agree about mick ryan amd also i think the centre half leahy is excellent...if they are to sneak the league these guys will need to perform....getting o connor back should also be a perogative....i disagree about moroney i think he is the best because he scores all types of goals and does it consistently

Guys can't see Moroney playing this year. He got an awful going over in the summer. He is waiting for an operation. Also he is happy again at Town, so I don't see him leaving if and when he comes back.
David McGrath whilst only 17 is devolping into a fine striker. has scored a few crucial goals for Town and what about Tony Scully, I know he is not an out and out striker but he is scoring 20 goals on a regular basis.

On his day lads Alan Coady is as good as any junior soccer centre forward in the country,he has it all power, pace, good in air, with both feet and up to this season has been regularly scoring 20+ goals a season, with a different attitude towards training and mentors he could have gone a long way..

lads Coady was a great player but for the last 2 seasons he hasn't really been around. His best days are behind him but agreed on his day he was top drawer

yeah disappointed in alan and kennedy this season...received confirmation back from tsdl....villas barry ryan leads the way on 17 goals....still for me aoron moroney is number 1...him and kennedy would have been great partnership this season for saints...kennedy and alan barry would have worked too.....11am kick off away to bansha is last thing we need this weekend....and the alan barry saga goes on...his transfer has not gone through

Find it strange that the TSDL would have the stats on all competitions? do you have a contact number that I can get some stats on? cheers:)

strange comment maxwell.......you can get any stat you want from the tsdl....you simply go on to the tsdl website and there is an option to e mail them...you simply give your name your e mail address and there is a section to write your enquiry

interesting theory guys....read the posts....i am far from a barry ryan fan.....also i have no problem with him.....what i was trying to prove was alan barry had not scored the goals in tipp he had managed in limerick...both of you guys are however obsessed with knocking him....its very easy to see if i am barry ryan...simply check the e mail address i have provided and my name is on it as it is my limerick work address........good luck tomorrow lads

and what has that got to do with Barry Ryan?
.both of you guys are however obsessed with knocking him....
Where have I ever knocked Alan Barry? I rate him highly, and he would not be an international if wasn't a top class striker?....please think before you post accusations....if anybody is obsessed its you....with Barry Ryan. I'd be worried if I were him....

it wasnt alan i was accusing you of knocking.....to be fair it was alan i was knocking....in terms of personality and attitude i think alan barry seems like a top bloke i just felt he never delivered the goals people in limerick were talking about...however i would not be surprised to see him do this back in limerick....and i was by no means heaping praise on barry ryan ....he just happens to lead the charts at the moment and by the sounds of den and ron he will need to score a hell of a lot more goals than 17 to get any recognition here:) now back to football......town into last 16 of fai...its wide open can they win it? can villa sneak the league...i think the games in oldbridge and bansha are huge today....villa play at 3 so will know the saints result...it might be a big incentive as bansha will be strong this morning as they will have the gaa boys

I have just watched the worst display I can remember from a Referee in Celtic Park BANSHA. It says a lot when players from both teams ie; Bansha and St Michael's had to be restrained at the end of the game. From a Bansha view he gave a terrible decision for a penalty to saints with 2 minutes of normal time to go. then to top that with saints waiting to take a corner and the Bansha keeper down getting treatment he decided to blow for full time and you wait and see it will be Bansha and Saints who will get in trouble from the league not this incompetent referee ( John Lyons )

Villa 6-0 winners away to Old Bridge....big result! anyone know the scorers! Between Villa and Town for the league now. Town 8 points off but 3 games in hand!
serious win for peake. michaels lucky with there draw in bansha. bansha team was without chris higgins, tony egan and barry grogan there 3 best players. just shows how poor saints are gone

3rd round of the Tipperary Cup is being made Monday night. For the first time in a long time a team other than one of the top 2!! has a real chance of silverwear this season, both Cup and Premier League. I fancy Peake to be the team to take one of these.

Some of the Saints players lost the plot at the end and had to be pulled away from the Ref by their managers. That's not to say Bansha were not to put it mildly upset but it was verbal. If Bansha get fined and Saints don't then League or Ref will be guilty of blatant favouritism. AS IF THEY WOULD !!!

Yes I was at the game or I would not be posting. I have been watching TSDL games for over 20 years and I stand by what I said. It was the first match I was at were every supporter at the game from both sides thought he made a mess of it. It was so bad some at the game did not even know if the game was completed or abandoned. I think the league will come down to the Peake vs Town game. who's at home?

Id love to know who starts these rumours it would be a waste of money! The right people are over the team at the moment. The club is in a transition period some first team player are nearing their end while the new bunch are just starting to gel.
Saints Youths won TSDL First Division Youth League on Saturday with a game still to play. Ok its the first time in 10 years but as the Great Barack Obama would say "there is a change coming". Youths are also in quarter finals of Munster Youth Cup at home against St.Brendans Park from Tralee this Saturday 14th. This team contains a very talented group of players a lot of them were involved in the U16 National Cup Semi Final last year.
Change takes time with a bit of luck and the right man in charge these players have a bright future in front of them with Saints!:ball::)

i agree with stevie11 about michaels bringing players through. it would be a first if they did bring a bunch through. They usually let other clubs develop players and go take them from clubs. dont think anyone that debate that point!!!

I think it is nearly impossible to bring many youth players on to full team. It is from 18 to 21 that a lot of other things take priority in a lads life!! and you only have to look back to the last recession in the 80's when a lot of young people moved away to find work. If 2 youth players per season are still playing football for the same team when they are 23 you are lucky.

Hey Stevie,
Transition = movement, passage, or change from one position, state, stage, subject, concept, etc., to another; change: the transition from adolescence to adulthood.
Thats the definition of TRANSITION for you. I never said it was going to happen next year i also said "Change takes time"
Its nice to see you put your own spin on the comment i posted oh yeah also nice to see what club you follow...... oh sorry you didnt make that public did you ,so your comments about poaching ill ignore and put down to bitterness!
