I hope those of you on about our match on TG4 realise there is another stand that was at least 3/4 full.

How many chances does Boco need?
That's three weeks in a row I've seen him miss loads of chances in the one game.
I am not messing he actually missed more last week v Derry. Terrible crowd i would say max 1,200 at that game.

O'Flynn went down to a nothing tackle, you could see immediately though he was in severe pain. Horrible stuff and Id like to wish him a speedy recovery.
Ref was a joke, worst I have seen in years, the "penalty" was a blatant dive by that blondie little tart Kearney who got up laughing afterwards. Some seriously laughable decisions (if it wasn't so feckin serious for us), we deserved at very least a draw from that game.
Encouraging performance from Harps, well organised at the back with only one of last weeks back 5 playing tonight. Only 5 of last weeks team played tonight and we looked good.

Get well soon to John O Flynn.Hope injury is'nt as serious as it looked.
Harps looked a lot more organised and penalty looked more than a bit dodgy tbh-MNS will clear it up.
Please God, our injuries will clear up a bit.McCafferty looks on tonights evidence to be a tidy player and Byrne started well but went off after half an hour with an injury.
Looking forward to Sligo game next week.

Anyone any idea what's going on in Athlone? Can't find any reference to the match on Aertel. Livescore says it's postponed?
You can thank the FAI for nobody knowing anything about our game. Up until Monday of this week, they made no mention of it being changed. The fixture list issued on Monday still had the game down for Saturday night. They then followed it up with this little gem:
"Please note one change to the FAI Fixture List issued earlier this evening: the Athlone Town v Longford Town match is scheduled for Saturday July 12th, not Friday July 11th."
In the attached fixture list they did actually have it down for Friday, but at 7:30 instead of 7:45. I know at least one national paper rang our PRO today to ask him what time our game was on at tomorrow.

Ha, I thought that might be the case. We had it on our site weeks ago that it was changed so I knew I had the right night. Aertel popped it up about half an hour into the game, which was nice of them.

I was going to mention that but thought it was fairly obvious at this stage.
Not that TP was bursting at the seams.

excellent game of ball 0 -0 mons played some great football and should have went in 3 up at half time waterford played better in the second half, but i see the mons had to change kit before kickoff as waterford had no away kit...strange

You're probably erduced to fielding the XI he hasn't fallen out with yet.
Didn't matter against us though. Five defeats on the bounce, no confidence in the slightest at home. Rovers were poor and we gifted youz two goals, but ultimately it can't be said you didn't deserve the points, which is the worst thing about it.
Any doubts of any team outside the bottom four going down are gone now. It's us or Harps. They're prone to getting hammered by the top teams, but so long as we keep losing by one to them, that doesn't matter...

McCafferty was very late and caught him from behind. We reckoned he was lucky to stay on the field. Be interesting to see the replays on Monday

It looked more like O'Flynns studs got caught in the ground while his body weight went in the opposite direction.
Word today is that its a very serious injury and it could be a very long hard road back to recovery.

Nothing? Yeah nothing breaks an ankle like a nothing tackle?

It happens. Look at Cisse when he broke his leg against Blackburn, or even Henrik Larsson.

Were you there?
It was a free, a poor tackle but not exactly what someone would call a leg breaker. It was a harsh booking imo, I suppose we will see it again on monday night. If im wrong ill holld my hands up and admit it but from what I saw last night I have seen much worse tackles go away unpunished.
Have you ever heard of someone break their ankle by going over on it? As City said above, it happens, look at Cisse and Larrson for just 2 examples.

You weren't even there so wind your Cark neck in.
Best wishes to O'Flynn. Awful to see any player get an injury like that.

Yeah it was one of those freak moments where the opposing team is 2v1 and the defender lunges at you but right at that moment your studs catch the turf and somehow fractures a small robust bone in your ankle.
Happens all the time.

No mention of Bohs exit from the Intertoto?
It wasn't important, like the league cup. Riga are welcome to it, bohs are mainly concentrating on the league and FAI cup only anyway! ;)

good win for us.
kinda hoped bohs would win it, guess moving a game 200km to a stadium you always play in works.
so many bohs fans with flights to edinburgh and sweden, at least they get nice holidays.

Latvian and Lithuanian leagues are highly similar according to their co - efficient. Shels' didn't concede a goal against Vetra in 2006. Winning 5 - 0 on aggregate.
I suppose it's an indictment as to how poor the league has become since Shels' aren't there.

Oh god I'm so sorry. I know your team haven't been around that long so you can't possibly understand the history of teams in Dublin. No, there are different teams in Dublin and Bohs aren't Shels. They are two seperate teams.
It's my own fault. I should be more considerate.

If Only shels weren't in the league... How did Shels do after that Vetra game...

Actually we went on to win the League of Ireland in 2006. It was a good year, thanks for the reminders.

I meant immediately after you beat Veta, you lost to Odense, and of course you didn't pick up any point at all for the co-efficient.
So basically the league had the same result this year as when Shels where in the inter toto.
Still, as long as your mememories keep you warm in the first division...
