It's beyond brilliant. I went to the Midnight release at Smyths(was over a 100 there at 12am anyway) and played it till 7 this morning then, only stopping for two reasons...

1. I don't want to clear it in one go:D

2. It was dam early(only got up at 3pm today :D)

The online is something else and will keep us going longer then COD with the wealth of area's and approaches one can take!.

One downside i found with online is a team-mate can **** everyone around.

I was playing ''Cops and Crooks'' last night and taught i was the boss, i was in the passenger seat of the car with some fella driving, he kept driving up and down the same road where the cops were like he only wanted to kill them instead of taking me to the extraction point, so i hopped out and got my own car, then a quick look at the radar showed he was infact the boss so i pulled up beside him and he got in, off i went towards the extraction point, out running the patrol car that pursued us, we were well on the way there when he decided to jump out of the car while i'm flooring it thus killing himself and giving us a mission failed.

I can't see a way around things like this happening though, he did'nt want to do the mission and get out, all he wanted to do was kill people(Boss dies mission ends so he's just meant to get on his bike)

There will be loads of instances of this happening over the coming weeks and months!!

It's a very small gripe to have about something when you consider it's no fault of the game itself!

This game is easily the best thing to ever come into my life:D

Online is brilliant, i was playing with 2 itialians and a german guy earlier, i robbed an LCPD Armoured Van and the german guy hopped into the passenger seat and the itialians got into the back of it, flying down the road with 6 cop cars following us and 2 guys in a lambo:D

I felt a little sick when i opened the paper and read it was 40 quid in tesco:(

Very impressed, online is completely unreal!,endless possibilities!,love Party mode or whatever its called!,With so many new aspects to the gameplay, im gona be at it for ages!!, i love the way you can choose to do one thiong or another in some of the missions, like control the outcome!, quality!

Went to Smyths yesterday , with a imported copy of Rainbow six vegas 2 that i never played and tiger woods 2007. I got RSV2 for 40 euro and tiger is worth about 7 euro trade in but with there 2 games get this one free i got GTA4 in a straight swap.

At first i was hugely dissapointed the graphics are quite poor the city blurs in the distance! why do this the PS3 can hadle it and when you move everything goes weird cars and people are poorly done , when you go into a shadow even in day you cant see anything. with a lot of messing around with in game and tv brightness and contrast etc . i got somewhere. still quite messy did anyone actually play the game from rockstar ? after i pause it, it could come back allmost black and white then i pause it again and then its got so much colour you cant see anything !!! Any one else getting these problems.

But i guess a city that size is hard to get super good so i said ill let it pass and see what its like to play

Then the fighting is still terrible , press x to duck !! i press x he stands there getting stabbed in the face.

But after the initail dissapointment it started to pick up a bit , got a few missions in got a gun shooting is very good this time. Driving is good apart from some long skids when breaking fast.story is starting to build and im enjoying it.

Only 2 hours in but if it keeps getting better it will be great but its far from a 10/10 that some reviews are giving it. far too many problems with it this early in at the moment id give it 8/10 . But that could go up or down once i get a good bash off it.

COD4 on console is distinctly average compared to the PC version(assume you own a top of the line PC) Its where COD4 won the vast majority of its awards.COD4 is pretty,the majority of the COD series fans said it was a half step up from COD2(PC). But I still can't see this Blur affect,what did you expect?To be able to see 10000 meters down the road?I'd say you can barely see 1000 metres(unaided of course) let alone 10000.But then again I can't see this apparent bluring affect,although I'm playing it on the 360.

And you can't really compare this to any other game,since GTA is a sprawling metropolis.Only game that comes close is Assassins creed for Size.

And lastly you'll probably be the only person Alive to give it 8/10,it breaks so many gaming boundaries,it doesn't even fit into 1 genre..

The only HDTV that counts is Full HDTV with 1080i/p anything else is just a waste of HDTV and isn't worth your money,Assassins creed on full HD was amazing in fairness, GTA doesn't set its stall as a Graphics only game which is great because it becomes dated fast,but it does have some nice graphics in fairness

Im changing my score pushing it up to 9.7 still doesnt get 10 as there is some issues but they are fairly small in comparison to the good points the city is amazing when it rains its class its the tiny things that make it so impressive there is prob some tiny box or alley no one will ever see yet they spent hours on making it. the fighting doesnt matter when you get a gun. the story & voice work is top notch The cousin is hillarious.

I spent a good while making a brand new custom setting that has solved most of my lighting & scratching issues makes it look even better.

Go any where in the city up high look across the city buildings in the distance get blurry , its only small and id love to be able to lock the camera when driving i like to tilt it up a bit to see more of the road in front but have to hold the analog in place.

A nice trick I found was to press B(Xbox anyway)which if driving puts up into Cinematic mode and then you can use the left analog stick to turn it into slow-mo,bit useless if you ask me,Reminds me of Burnout or Max Payne in terms of the slow mo.

PC gaming is the most challenging of the gaming formats,if playing COD4 for example,it requires excellent hand-eye coordination to become good at it.

How far is everyone in the game? I'm just onto the last Island(without wanting to give too much away) Bought myself the Hitman suit(Black suit,white shirt,Red tie),although michelle hated it when she first saw it...

I said ive put in 7 or 8 hour shifts but i dont get to play every day that may be once a month if im lucky , im on about the 30+ guy living in his mums basement playing for hours a day

But assanins creed is ****e, about as much use as playing crytek in 1920x1080 can look ****ing deadly but ultimatley a ****e game.

GTA 4 on 360 easily the best game ever made ever. :D


Little Jacob a reason alone for learning a new language, dunno how anyone has issues with controls the same GTA rules apply with driving and shooting, take the corner early and shoot them before they get close to you.

from what I've been told, you can, but means messing with the controller port, which is basically a modified USB connection.

if you have a network it's easier to add the HD to the network, connect the XBox to the network, and then stream the content to it

You can replace the HD in the XBox as well, I took the 8GB one out of my box and stuck a 500GB one from komplett in there. Picked up the XBox second hand from Game for €30, the HD was €80, media centre for €110? Bargain!

cars are a bit too loose for my liking, camera wonky, and some sluggish controls on foot, latter is i suppose in keeping with both the 3d gta games i've played. game feels slower overall too. must spend more time with it to get the feel and solve the quirks.
