Not sure if a specific "Albums" thread is required. If there's no interest in it - it will die off of its own accord!

Albums I've been listening to:

In Rainbows - Radiohead
The Last Broadcast - Doves
Happiness in Magazines - Graham Coxon
Roots and Echoes - The Coral
Snap - The Best of the Jam
Supergrass is 10 - Supergrass
Revolver - The Beatles

Definitely good idea, but if we could infuse such with a bit discussion here and there I think it'd be all the better. Like:

DJ Craze - Fabriclive 38

Been listening to that the last few days too. Thought it was a little disappointing to be honest. Decent enough, but nothing special at all I felt?

My playlist;

Cerrone - Celebrate!
Various Artists (produced by Groove Armada) - Late Night Tales: Groove Armada
DJ Yoda & Dan Greenpeace - Jews Paid Too
Arctic Monkeys - Covers Mixtape

It's not too bad, a decent effort with a couple of really good tunes, but definitely not up the the standard set by Adam Freeland, Krafty Kuts, the Scratch Perverts and the like. But seeing as I have been listening to it quite a bit I thought it only fair to put it in. :)

The Strokes - First Impressions of Earth

Been doing a lot of cycling this week so I've mostly been listening to pedal-pumping electro sets rather than albums as such;

Etienne de Crécy - Live at Les Ardentes Festival 2007 (I'm not sure if he had these visuals for that set, but you simply must check out the most impressive visuals I've ever seen (http://www.vimeo.com/693800) - would dearly love to see that at mainstage EP!)
Adam Freeland - Essential Mix for Radio 1, 1st March 2008
Alex Metric - Alex Metric Mix 2008

Finally, I got the best album I've heard in absolutely ages last week (because it's so un-fahkin-real more than anything else :)). It's hard enough to describe because of it's originality, but generally it's a magical, quirky electro-pop record, with a breaks leaning in places. As an album it flows beautifully, seamlessly moving from track to track, with loads of crackers to get the head bopping and fingers clicking. Oh yeah better give the name: The Young Punx! (http://www.myspace.com/theyoungpunx) - Your Music Is Killing Me. Foot.ie Rating: 11/10 - Get it!

In order for Itunes to work on my laptop, I had to delete all my stuff on my ipod and then start uploading it all again onto the laptop. So at the moment I only have a few Bowie albums in rotation.

:D What a great opening track to gaily set me off on a magical mystery tour! I suppose Queen's Bicycle Race would have to be next. Cue "The Ultimate Cycling Playlist" thread?

This week for me:

We show up on radar - Growing A Girl (Instructions On How To Grow A Girl Without Your Wife Finding Out) (Still a favourite)
Tindersticks - Tindersticks
Simon & Garfunkel - Sounds of Silence
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - I see a darkness.

Man, I need to cheer up.

Eeels - Meet the Eels, Essential Eels Volume 1

Bottle of Tonic

I haven't heard of half the stuff listed above. Then again I wouldn't expect too many to know

Wolves In The Throne Room - two hunters
Mr. Bungle - self titled
Donald Fagan - morph the cat
Misfits - collection II
Mourning Beloveth - the sullen sulcus
Marduk - panzer division marduk

So where does all this tat that appears on the radio and tv stations come from? Who actually listens to that stuff? I can only think of my sister who actually listens to genuine mainstream popular music.

Saw some strange graffiti in a jacks the other day...

Jimi Hendrix is the nice on the guitar.

Lovely. Im listening to Portishead's first two albums in anticipation of Third. Still sounds excellent after all this time. Along with Prodigy's first album 'Experience' which I never really got into first time around.

Also revisiting Takk by Sigur Ros which is definitely a grower...

Still listening rather obsessively to Hot Chip - Made In The Dark 'cos it's so good.

Had a handful of new albums ready to go, but can't get past the Utah Saints - Something Good '08 CD Single (which comes with 5 remixes so I'm counting it as a mini-LP), which I'm absolutely caning at the moment as it's just so good. Every one of the different versions a gem, but the High Contrast drum 'n' bass remix is an absolute joy!

And so, if I can get past that, the now pre-emptive list for this week continues:
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!
Tom Middleton Presents Crazy Covers 2
The Trip 2 Navigated by Tom Middleton
and
Gary Numan / Tubeway Army - Premier Hits :o
(Actually, am amazed I've never had even a greatest hits of what were one of my favourite childhood bands. Not sure I'd be bothered to delve any deeper now, mind!)

Thanks be to god someone else likes that song. I heard the original for the first time, about 2 days before the new version was released. Love them both, but the new video makes me laff so much.

It was the freshest move I've ever seen... like he was floating on air

Ah yeah, loved that tune, and that album, since it came out in 1992 or thereabouts, just brilliant. New video is good too. :D

Got a few new ones this week, so giving good long listens to:

Bloc Party - Intimacy (newest listen, but liking this a lot so far)
CSS - Donkey (Brilliant stuff, best album of the last few months certainly)
Kaiser Chiefs - Off With Their Heads (surprisingly not too bad for a 3rd-album-when-the-idea-is-well-beat situation)

im really disliking the Kaiser Chiefs new one. A few decent songs but at least Mark Ronson producing it, didnt produce any horns or trumpets. Bloody Lily Allen appearing on it though has killed it for me.
