If the Inside man has a figure i would go with that he would know,
1,500 would mean if you through everybody else into the new stand that was in the ground it would be nearly 300 short of being full so that as you know yourself is way off.

Yeah it doesn't seem right. Would of said 1,500. I was in the stand so I'm judging that on the amount I saw in the shed.

Yeah 20 would be an accurate enough figure, maybe 30. I also seen their minibus as I was leaving. A few of them were over getting chips at half time - they seemed like a decent enough bunch. Nice to have some away fans in Oriel for change!

Our attendances have been affected alright but unfortunatley we can't use Rugby as an excuse, it purely down to p!sh football. :o

All we have to do is cut the foot long grass that passes for a terrace and add some spinach to the hot dogs.

You'd think for the presentation of the trophy, they'd have more fans crawling out of the woodwork.
IIRC, Sligo sold out their game when they were awarded the First Division title.

Indeed. But if you bought every other Sligo Weekender this year you will find the same figure quoted. Even when we only have 900 at a match to 2,100.
So do a bit of research before posting, since when has any newspaper got near to the actual attendance. To be honest I can't really see where the 2,117 was got i would have guessed under 2,000 but that is the official firgure lads.

If you mean those who formed the guard of honour at full time for our team of champions, i think you'll find they are some of the clubs schoolboy section.

Believe it or not a fair amount of people in Galway alternate between both of us.Obviously both teams have their hardcore following but there could be anything up to a couple of hundred who chose their game based on opposition/importance etc.
Both teams get crowds of 4000+ when they've a big game against good opposition.

Well, I couldn`t get a seat outside of the A section of the jodie, where the 35 Derry fans with the faux Lambegs were, along with the Bohs schoolboy teams, (smallest Derry crowd I can remember since they were admitted to the league). Easily 2,800 Bohs fans there. Offensive banners also had to be removed from the small Derry turnout. Ultimately decided to vacate A to escape the Drum banging and went to the shed. Great atmosphere after the game!
Reckon Derry are the most effective team we`ve played this season, interesting cup final if we both get there

Last year the attendance against ye at home was 3700.
Our Cup Semi on Sunday week should have 4000-5000 there.
I've been in Terryland where there's been 6500-7000 there.Games against Pats/Harps spring to mind.

Would say about 900 at the Cobh-UCD game. Main stand was a bit under half full (400 say), 150 behind the far goal, 300 in the terrace and 30 in the other stand. About 20 from UCD, including our A team, who suddenly had a free afternoon. :)

He said 4,000+ for big games against good opposition hence less than 4,000 for a game against Sligo Rovers
Seriously though, I have been to games in Sligo and Limerick (City) where there when crowds were over 5,000. This was in the mid to late 80's when facilities were far worse than they are now.

Didn't Limerick (City) play a Cup game infront of like 8,000 in late 80s up there??
Vague, vague memories.
Different times aswell though, attendances in general are gone to $hite.
Still, recession will help :)
