Waiting for dundalkfc.com to update match report, but would have thought there was around 2,500 at the shels game last night

www.dundalkfc.com now has the report on line, it says 'approx 2,300'

sligo would have at least 100 at that game as they have a very strong supporters club in dublin so they say they have poor away support is a joke stu.
I wasn't at the game* so can't say how many was there but a Sligo fan on their forum said there was about 60 max.

Not worked up at all. I've no problem admitting our crowds are pathetic, even by League of Ireland standard.

I think it was fair enough to challenge gufct saying there was over 100 Sligo fans when he wasn't even at the game.

Par for the course gufct talking nonsense on the attendances thread; wouldn't pay heed to him. He reckons there were 1000 (http://foot.ie/showthread.php?t=85021&page=66) (post 1307) in their new stand (pictured) at our game, for example.

Never 60 Sligo fans at our game either.

I'm not Wumming, but I have to say you are going to get some poor crowds 'if' you end up playing in the 1st division next year

We've been in the First Division before, don't forget. Average was 306 that time. Away support for the lesser games like Sligo isn't all it's cracked up to be, so we won't be missing out on much, and we didn't lose that much of our home support last time. We can't go up against Leinster though given we're right in the middle of rugger-bugger heartland.

Never 60 Sligo fans at our game either.I would have thought 50-60 was close enough based on people coming in when I was selling programmes. There were only a couple singing but there were more fans than them at the game.

I know what you mean, we're in Gaaaaah land here but we hope to convert a few on Saturday in the final. I've seen lads buying tickets for the game and you'd swear they were buying some ganga they way they wanted to avoid being spotted by anyone who might know them

Ya I was talking to a few lads the other night who've never set foot in the place before, and might never again, but they have the tickets ready to go. It's going to be a fantastic night, hate the fact that I can't make it.

I'm already in bother with the anti-Delaney brigade so will refrain from the cheap and hugely overused joke that's waiting here begging to be put away. :D

Hard to know what our attendance was, but it was apparently 150 more than last week (though I've not got that official figure), I'd have said something about the 700 mark maybe.

I did think with it being Wexford and the hurling long over now that there would have been a lot more. They're just not interested.

I would have thought nowhere near 800 but no matter.I made a complete **** of myself arriving for the game. Last time we were there, the new car park wasn't open, this time I drove up, lowered the window and asked the steward if the car par was open tonight. 'No bother', he advised 'that'll be €30'. I gave him my serious look of disbelief and moved forward to turn the car around and park elsewhere and then he leapt in front of the car to stop me. After a brief discussion, I realised he meant €30 for admission for me and my passenger to the game and I could park where I wanted....

Chips were nice

Wasn't great, but it didn't help that all the fans were in the stands at either end (behind each goal) rather than on the side opposite the cameras - I'd guess about 2,000 (about half and half Bohs/ Rovers) or around half of what was there in April

I can never understand how when a Dublin team plays another Dublin team that the crowds are not bigger. Excluding UCD, Dublin teams have crowds into the 1 and 2 thousands yet when it's an away game about 10 minutes away, only bring a small crowd:confused:.

Dunno TBH - we always bring decent support to Tolka and Richmond, but Pat's and Rovers crowds in Dalymount have been poor this year. Connaught Street is not a great place to watch a game from, which might be a partial explanation - would people from non-Dublin teams like to say how our travelling numbers compare overall to Pat's and Rovers?

In my experience over the past five years Bohs have regularly brought a larger crowd to Belfield than Shels, Pat's or Shamrock Rovers.

No. My mate wasn't on turnstiles tonight so this was the figure told to me by a board member leaving the ground.
Would have been what I would have guessed anyway after taking a walk around during the game and getting a good look. Not a great attendance considering the night that was in it.

Pats took maybe 400 fans to the last game in Dalymount even that is pushing it.

shamrock rovers id say brought the biggest to finn park this year, but bohs were close, bear in mind we played bohs on a tuesday night as well,

does anyone here think if all games were switched to saturday nights then we might get better all round support. it would certainly help me getting to dublin for away games anyway. i just never seen the sense in friday nights... old debate i'd imagine.
