Per capita, Cobh are probably the best supported club in the league. Approx 5% of the population of the town attended the Derry City match (Cobh and environs = 13,000, as per Wikipedia).

The attendance figures of clubs like Sligo, Cobh, Longford etc, are quite decent, when you consider their relatively small catchment area.

In contrast, approx 1% of the population of Galway City go to United home matches this season, and 0.5% of the population of Galway County. Cities/counties like Limerick and Waterford also have very low percentage levels of support for their teams.

Ballybofey + Stranorlar = about 4000 people I believe. Admittedly Harps catchment area is massive, but if you're going on town size...

The stand holds 607 and was nearly full. I'd say at least 550. Add to that approx 200 around the pitch and then a large number (for which you have to have a match ticket) viewing from the clubhouse. We can't help it if we have so many options on watching our matches

Finn Harps - Cobh Ramblers (22 August)
My savant abilities allowed me to approximate the attendance to 893. But here's the thing, at the start of the second half, there was more like 1247. Ok, the originally published 8pm kick-off was totally disregarded in favour of a 7.45pm TG4 kick-off. But, I mean, where were the 354 other mucks for the first half? Does Croker Syndrome happen anywhere else in the league?

p.s...in fairness, a huge portion of late arrivals generally seem to be pre-pubescent children...what was it Alan Hansen said that time....?

Otherwise it's a good crowd for the actual fixture.....hope your beat Derry City again (don't tell me mates).

I don't have an Official attendance figure for UCD v. Derry City but complaints during the UCD Bowl planning application about noisy LoI supporters were justified.

Nope, you`re a bit out here smorgan, 2 days after the game approx 2,000 was also reported on www.dundalkfc.com - usually i would go along with under estimates, but this was a game where thjere was clearly a large crowd up. stand holds 1,300, 3/4 full (= over 900) and at least 3 or 4 hundred over the ground, as for the shed this had almost 1,00 packed in. take a look at the video on dfctv there is also a large amount on the away terrace and outside the bar

I'll go with what's on the official website; I know it's not an accurate figure, but I'd hope it's a vaguely reliable source (!), and it's the figure I've been using all the way through with minimal complaints, so I'll keep with that for consistency. People will complain it's not official or is not questionable, but that's why we're highlighting clubs with official figures.

UCD v Kildare last time out got about 250-300, incidentally.

I didn't think all season tickets sold at the start of the season are counted in every game.
The season tickets are scanned on entry the same as ordinary tickets are so the announced attendance should be the actual number of bodies at the game, no matter what kind of ticket was used to get in.

Sorry we couldn't offer you a more entertaining match. Our lads looked tired from their exploits earlier in the week. I was going to use the phrase 'cup hangover' but sure our lads are only children and don't take a jar (ha!).

Some good slick passing from Athlone. We always feel that our league position doesn't reflect our abilities and I think the same can be said about Athlone on that performance

I can imagine. It took us 5 hours 10 mins to get to Limerick thanks to the traffic yesterday, home in 3 hours 25! The official announced attendance for Limerick game lst night was 471. Thought it seemed a little high.
