Greg O'Halloran (Gets a thread of his own)

Leonard made some of his strong views on Greg known on the thread "Yesterdays Programme". So I thought that Greg deserved his own thread. I have to say that all the negatives pointed out by Leonard were relevant to off the field behavior. Greg was a young and ambitious lad when he joined City and there's no doubt that a certain amount of publicity goes with playing for a "top" LOI club. Perhaps this went to the lads head but is that a reason to kick him out?
Surely it would be better to show him the error of his ways but encourage his footballing ability.
It is my opinion that we should give him another chance.
Lets face it our options are limited enough.

I'd be inclined to see if he's learned his lesson and is willing to:

1) turn up for training
2) win a place on the team through skill and hard work
3) sort his problems out in private rather than in the Echo

Then I'd consider having him back.
If this makes me a goldfish then "glug glug"

BTW Are we still paying Greg?

Greg rarely impressed me. While he seemed to have great potetional but he always caught up in trying to prove himself to his maker or argueing with the ref. He wasn't a great team player.

Certainly we need a creative player in midfield. I wonder would the club try signing young Brendan Sweeney from Ramblers.
He's just what we need, skillful and creative.

Off field problems breed on-field problems. Havn't you ever watched Dream Team, Tea Boy? How will it affect younger players coming into the club if all they see is the Sulking Greg ****ing around and getting second chances while all their hard work sees them get a free transfer to Waterford? I hate people like O'Halloran - someone with ability like that just ****ing it all away. No second chances - you had one and lost it. I find it hard to believe that he will cop his ideas on, as I tend to find the old monkier of "once a waster, always a waster" to be quite true. Why should City waste the wages to build him back up only to see him sulk and **** off first chance he gets again?
If it's options you lot want, then run a poll on the best way to run him out of City - train, bus or walk.
