I thought Newcastle would be fired up for it more yesterday! I thought they would be saying to themselves let's do it for Joey Barton.
Could not happen to a nicer team!

yesterday's performance was one of the worst I have ever seen from a PL team. How enrique, guthrie and edgar are professional footballers is beyond me
Newcastle deserved to go down, absolutely crap all season long. It'll be a while before we see them in the Premier League
I hope they get Shearer and I hope the smug **** gets em relegated. Has he got the balls to step up now or will he hide behind Lawro and Hansen in the tv studio?
Someone get Uri Gellar here a pint for that call!

The fact that you don't realise you're delusional shows how delusional you are.

What a stupid comment. Why does everyone try to paint all Newcastle fans with the same brush and generalise all the time?

Any fans that think Kevin Keggan is a great manager and an ex-player with no management experience is the man to save them from relegation are very delusional IMO

He did save us from relegation in the old division 2. I don't think anyone ever said he was a great manager. A great motivator, yes.
EDIT: Just realised you were referring to Shearer there. The club was f*cked, and Shearer was appointed in an act of desperation. There was little risk about it.

would probably be a good deal to be fair for some rich investors. St James Park must be worth fair few quid itself

I suspect it also comes burdened with high debts like most Premiership clubs despite the waffle that winning the Championship means millions to a club. They usually way overspend to try and stay in it and then go in to free fall when relegated.

Might see them first against Shamrock Rovers in the Stadium of Dreams In Tallaght. Brings new meaning to the phrase "He's got a yellow streak running down his spine".

You do have to wonder about people like Charlie Chawke and the Drumaville consortium. After spending the last three years telling everyone what big Sunderland fans they are he turns around now and says they would like to buy Newcastle! Apart from using the dreaded f-word "franchise" it just goes to show that these lads are just event junkies and like the kudos of being linked with an English club.
I'm a Newcastle supporter (and a Shamrock Rovers one first before anyone makes a comment) and the last thing the club needs is ownership like that. After Mike Ashley and Freddie Shepherd any new owner would have to demonstrate a genuine interest to the local community before getting a chance. Based on that interview Charlie wouldn't even get 5 minutes.
I'd much prefer to see these Irish businessmen invest their money in an Irish club (or preferably multiple Irish clubs). I suspect they'd get much more value for money and quite a bit more enjoyment out of it as well.
And I thought the publicans and builders were supposed to be skint!
