Just wondering if there have been any developments with regards to fundraising. There have been lots of business developments in Sligo over the last couple of years and there is revenue there which isn't being tapped into.

What ever happened to the Liverpool legends dinner that was mentioned here before ? How much is the jersey sponsorship worth ? I see that Cork made 120,000 from their raffle to have companies name on their jersey.

Any sign of a commercial manager being appointed to help raise money for a professional club or indeed a Chief executive to administer and help raise finance ?

I have asked the same question a few times but nobody has answered. The businessmen organising that event said that they were going to try and attract more businessmen to invest in the club, have they?

From the club website...

Sligo Rovers have unveiled a series of innovative sponsorship opportunities that will provide businesses with real choice for reaching their audience.

“The level of coverage of the eircom League has increased hugely in recent years’” according to club Chairman, Michael Toolan.

“Not only through the development of the local print and radio media, but also nationally with the improved coverage of the league. This is set to increase with the signing of the recent deal by the FAI to provide a one hour weekly highlights packages as well as more live coverage of games which we are confident we well benefit from.

“Both local and national brands have shown interest in elements of the new packages available, including prominent signage on the West stand and dugouts.

For more information, you can contact Michael Toolan 087-9293318 or Graham Monaghan on 087-2188928.

No use having prominent signage on the Main Stand and dugouts, if the TV cameras are situated there also!

Passed the Showgrounds earlier and there was some sort of digging work going on opposite the old secretary's office. The top lights of the two new plyons were on also. Anyone know what they are at?

It is hoped following the upcoming AGM a board will be created consisting of five or six business people. This group of business people are to work along side the committee, with a priority to entice other business to become involved with the club.
