How about lads? No Bilko, No Carey fancy our chances?
Rams-07
18/11/2007, 11:28 AM
Why are they not playing?
Would be a huge loss to the team..will be hard enough with a full team
rambler14
18/11/2007, 11:45 AM
Carey is suspended and Bilko can't walk. He b0llocksed his knee in training and could hardly walk yesterday.
I'd still fancy ramblers 2-0 a goal in each half

S**t losing Bilko is going to be a huge loss..No disrespect to the reserve keeper but he has a long way to go to meet Bilkos standards..Will go for a 1-0 win..A going away present from Davin..
Think Hendo will definitly have to bring in a quality keeper next year,we rode our luck with the keeper situation this season

Davin ain't gonna go nowhere. He has too much on to make such a change. If he does go there will have to be a fee involved and Leeds are not allowed under FA rules to pay money for players. They are only allowed sign free agents or players on loan.

Is Davin not a free agent? Heard all the players are out of contract as they only had been signed for 1 season.Hope this is wrong.

As far as i know theres 3 or 4 who signed 2 year contracts. if i'm not right then heres hoping ramblers tie dav down to a contract b4 anything happens so that any takers pay a fee.

Agree with you bigtime..think it must be done straight away because Im sure there are other clubs out there would love to sign a few of our players.

Thats so stupid. Its no secret that most of the lads are free agents. Nothing is going to come of it if we discuss whose out of contract all that may happen is a rumour mill.

Still though it'll be very touch and go. He couldn't walk yesterday. Had to be helped from his chair up in the club. I'd be very surprised if he played.
Any word on Setanta???

Didn't want to start a new thread on this. Is Davin O'Neill away to Leeds? Wee brother (a leeds fan :o i know the shame of it) reckons they just signed him over the weekend and he is going over after tonights game.
On the game itself, ye will need to be on top form for this. Derry players have been "cruising" over the last few weeks and only had eyes for this game. They are still a strong side and with quality players like McHugh, Martyn, Molloy, Oman, McCourt, Brennan, etc at their disposal its a really big ask. I'll be there and hoping for a good game, the Brandywell pitch is supposed to be in great nick so no excuses for either side not to get it down and play it on the ground.

Supposedly going over for a trial soon but I'm not at home so doubt I have the full or accurate story. Should be a good game tonight then going by the conditions and the fact that they are 2 footballing teams.

Just spoke to a rams fan who was at the match..we couldnt get to grips with them at all for the first half hour and MaCourt was running the game..we settled down after half time and Davin brought us back into it ..had a few half chances to level it, but gave a good account of ourselves..Well done lads

Theres positives to be taken from that good result IMO. Considering all the team have been through recently they must be shattered, and all the drink too!!

ya love it, i felt up against by good old fbtn for weeks, its all irrelavent now anyway thank god.
Hard lines lads. After McCourt went off you came back into the game. McCourt scored a stunning goal, the ball was played to him just inside the Rams half on the touchline, took it on his chest, flicked it over the Rams players head, skinned another player and from a tight angle smashed it in off the bar. Davin O'Neill scored a good goal, but your finishing was poor tbh. Anyway good luck next season

Breaking News: Shane Barrett had a shot:eek: Not only that it hit the crossbar:eek::D
The Drink really wasn't out of their system. Kearney and Cummins were taken off and those of us in the clubhouse saturday and sunday were witness to their condition. Cambridge was taken off too he didn't look fit in training thursday night.
Incidently anyone know who was captain in Alan Careys absence?

Anybody see Kevin Murray on Sports Tonight last night spoke from the heart about the season.
I'm surprised he wasn't making a public appeal as to where his award as centre-back next to Gutsie on the Team of the Year is gone.
i drove up on monday and the first half on ramblers part was bad.we were blown away but we are a second half side anyway so i didnt panic. the first goal from mccourt was a bit of class on mccourts part, he flicked it over muckys head and mucky didnt have the pace to stay with him, great finish to thetop corner. the second was scrappy, derry player looked like he put it in with his arm. i thought that if we got to half time we could have ran um closer. after davins cracker from 25/30 yards derry looked like freaking out, and started to panic. we also had 2 glorious chances at end of 1st half which we should have converted at least 1.
lessons to be learned from this game: 1.we wont be getting as much time on the ball as 1st division as premier teams close you down quickly, so we need to execute passing faster and more accuratly, 2.the drink from the previous week took its toll. 3. need to take the chances we get.
overall it was good counting the different factors, long travel, winning league and the drink. learning curve. we were by no means played off the park. it must also be remembered that derry needed to win this game, their programme notes said that this was a 'must-win game' in financial terms and it would be a financial disaster if they failed to win.
well done to the lads.
