If you saw a combine harvester you wouldn't know whether to pat, it drive it, or ride it.

Before you get too excited you drive it.

This is what one looks like by the way

Fair play to Harps best of luck to them against Waterford. Hard luck to Dundalk.

Is that the same arsehole who tried to move the Derry fans from behind the goals that were fenced off a few years ago? He's an idiot. Imagine trying to move about 1000 Derry fans on your own:D

Nope he's well gone.

17/11/2007, 4:49 PM
Was that JP? I thought i saw him at the game last night but wasn't sure if i'd dreamt it:eek:

I think our "head of security" is the owner of the fastest milkcart in the North-west. Am I right in thinking it was him Skid? Think he was wearing the "head of security" jacket anyways.
We have lost a very good steward from last night due to Dundalk "fans" who hit him with a glass bottle, as well as been hit twice while doing his job (ie, not allowing them to invade the pitch during the game).
The proper Dundalk fans applauded their team off the park and joined us in song after the game. very good touch and something you just dont get in EPL football.

One more point, fair played to Gill, even though he tried the whole "I've only got 3 fit players" routine, he came out well in his interview saying "it's a disgrace, we should never have had to play that game, Harps were the best side in the league this season and it should just simply be 2 up and 2 down. We were the better team tonight but justice was done."
Was never his biggest fan but he was talking sence last night.

100% right. I have to admit I'm probably not Gills biggest fan, talks too much sh!te for my liking, but he's spot on there. Its not nice when the team in 3rd goes up at 2nd place's expense, I should know. Harps are a good team, huge improvement from earlier in the season, they would be a credit to the Premier. Hope you do the job, even more so after what happened after full time last night.

Correct me if im wrong, but i think eelmonster is a Harps Fan, and im going on a whim here and saying the avatar may be in recognition of the good relations between the clubs last friday?

Again if im wrong ill hold my hands up!

Anyway, you might need a combine harvester to sort out that grass in Tallaght!

I don't get the reference, I'm afraid - could a Rovers fan be too parochial, perhaps. Well, not after the move out to the townland of Tallaght, yee-haw.

Don't know what you use for cutting grass grass up there in Dundalk. We use combine Harvesters for cutting cereal crops (and not for riding hoopy).

We use one ot these for cutting grass

League Cup Final was October 10th

Cobh scored, sounds like Derry went to sleep and they cracked one in from 25 yards

Pull your head in and stop wumming.
Of course Derry will be the stronger team. They are playing in the prem every year, able to attract better players as they are a full time team, Cobh are part time and only travelled up this morning due to the utterly stupid decision to make this game a monday night. Cobh have only just won the league and the celebrations would have been pretty big in Cobh. And the final part of my rant is a question:

Do Cobh really want to be playing in the setanta cup? As a part time team having to travel mid-week the length of the coutry to play against Linfield/Drogheda or who ever else. Just a theory. It would have been different in our situation as the travel would not have been as bad.

Wumming? Are you for real? It was a comment about the game...and possibly one made too soon since Cobh have pulled one back.

I actually expected Cobh to have a good chance in the game based on both t eams run of form. Granted playing against different standards has a big influence but Cobh are in the habit of winning, have been defensively strong and should be on a high.

Whereas Derry have been in very poor form, their chairman has stood down and their manager's future is in doubt.

On the wanting the Setanta point, I think the money would be a major draw. Its hard to turn down the chance but they would have to bulk up their squad.

Cobh will have to play team of this standard and higher regularly next season. The point I was making is they'l need to bulk the squad they won the league with in order to avoid relegation

Even if Cobh were winning tonight they would need to bulk up on the squad. With 3 automatically going down next season it will be a tough ask for them, ourselves/waterford, Bray, UCD and Galway to stay clear of relegation.

Felix hasnt got the qualifications. As much as i'd like to see Higgsy he is in a comfy position. Part-time at Harps and doin well and working in his day job which he loves. Cant see him leaving Harps.

As for who we could get, I would like to see Peter Hutton given a crack of the whip full-time with Gary Beckett his assistant. A long shot but thats who i'd like to see if Robertson goes.

Dont know if it would have a leg to stand on considering there is going to be board changes, and the new board would be appointing anyone if Robertson leaves
