Just to recap:
As an experiment I decided to have a crack at importing a few of the top sides from the LoI into the English Third Division.
I've imported St Pats, Bohs, Shels and Rovers into the English
Third and they all did pretty well - Bohs get promoted as Champions of Div 3 and Pats & Shels are in the play-offs. Rovers finished 15th.

All I can say is, the English Leagues are ****-easy with an Irish club! (Scoring 155 goals in 46 games and ending up with a GD of +125!)
Buy Marc Lloyd-Williams from Bangor City if you need a good cheap goalscorer - as we can see from the Third Division scoring charts:

All I can say is that Glen Crowe had an absolutely crap season - just the 71 goals in 53 games!

Meanwhile, back in the eircom League - Longford were the transition League Champions and Limerick are currently top - looks like the decline of Cork City has started though :-( :

how come glenroe's moral is so low after scoring all those goals and getting another cap?

Class stuff there. How'd you change the teams in CM4 without the editor though? If I can make a suggestion it'd be to put the displaced English teams in the Conference, put some Conference teams into non-league oblivion and put the likes of DCU, Mullingar Town and any other strong non-league outfits into the eL instead?

This may shock you but it's a bug!
His success is also a bug of sorts, they failed to sort out the balance between defensive and attacking football. The majority of the CPU teams play fairly defensively whereas Human players tend to go for "Gung Ho" or "Attacking " at the very least. This makes it easier to win. Even if you aren't attacking it's still too easy, I beat Deportivo 7-1 with ten men on "Ultra Defensive".
My list of honours with U.C.D. inside five seasons is massive (eight trophies, nine runners up medals including a CL final defeat to Man Yoo).

A bug??? No!!!
:D
This can't be true.... I thought CM was the be all and end all when it comes to realsitic football games.... Infact I thought it was so realistic that people judged players on how good they were on CM, and people had applied for real managers jobs based on CM Success.....
Should I delete that message as I'm sure it will lead to the suicide of some CM saddo's? On second thoughts is that a reason to leave it?

I used something called a "SWAP_TEAMS" file:
Simply put the following into a notepad file - saving it with an ".EDT" file extension in your main data directory under CM4:
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Sunderland" "Portsmouth"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "West Ham United" "Leicester City"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "West Bromwich Albion" "Reading"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Wigan Athletic" "Sheffield Wednesday"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Crewe Alexandra" "Grimsby Town"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Cambridge City" "Kettering Town"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Cardiff City" "Stoke City"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Wrexham" "Mansfield Town"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Bohemians" "Hartlepool"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Worcester City" "Rochdale"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Hereford United" "Cambridge United"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Tamworth" "Barnet"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Yeovil Town" "Exeter City"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Celtic" "Middlesbrough"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Rangers" "Bolton Wanderers"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Wimbledon" "AFC Wimbledon"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Shamrock Rovers" "Bristol Rovers"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Shelbourne" "Darlington"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "S****horpe United" "Saint Patrick's Athletic"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Chesterfield" "Southend United"
Simply insert the FULL NAME of the clubs you want to swap, save said file, and start a new game - hey presto - the teams are swapped!
Although I still get entered into the eircom League Cup each season!
The reason that Crowe's morale was low is that he didn't like me subbing him in a game against Hereford (I was 4-0 up at the time), threw a wobbly at me, I issued him with a warning for Unprofessional Behaviour, and he didn't like that either!

CM is a dangerous product & should be classified as a recreational drug.
Haven't played it for a long time (altered limitation on size the cross allowed built to in last game) which is a good thing cos almost impossible to even play that game for as little as 3 hours.

I think I'm with you and will probably try it when I get home later on. I'm gonna promote new Irish teams to the eircom League though as opposed to letting the English teams take root here.

I wouldn't consider that a bad thing. kinda like Welsh clubs still playing in the Welsh cup. Will be more problematic in my scenario above because (DCU, Mullingar, St.James Gate and whoever else I promote will probably miss out on league Cup action)

Too true.
Last year I used to go to bed at 3am (on an early night) because I just couldn't drag myself away from my Russian band of misfits that were on the brink of European success. Even when I was dragged away from the PC all I did was talk and think about CM, the amount of times I've told people about my last day screwing by CSKA Moscow...
I still have a grudge against CSKA and Spartak Moscow to this day. And Rivaldo because his regen decided that he wanted to go to Madrid in 2011. :D

You fool! How dare you question CM?
Just you wait until Diego, Robinho and Freddy Adu rule the footballing World. Then you'll be sorry.
CM has predicted the likes of Riquelme, Ricardo Quaresma and Saviola and by gum it put them on the map.

I don't think you can. Open to correction but I couldn't see any way of regulating participants etc...
