View Full Version : Media Behaviour around Staunton Departure
:) Unlike your good self. I presume that it has escaped your notice that you have lodged complaints about the media in your previous posts. An the fact that this thread was kicked off as a quasi-complaint.
Though unfounded patronising remarks are always welcome in a debate.
In fairness I did not start the thread complaining about the FAI for doing their job professionally for once.
I know we all hate that shower in Merrion Sq but lets not have a go at them for the sake of it.Lets at least have a basis for our complaints.

The "media" includes serious journalists to buffoons from the Mirror or Star or whoever sent the Taxi man to the FAI with the P45 and Coco the Clown on RTE. There is no homogenous group called "the media". Some have behaved well, others badly. I really enjoyed the FAI giving them the run around :D

Source? Can't believe Kilbane would have come out with something like that, he's not one of the boozers in the squad.
He didn't. Mypost is much more likely to be the one on the píss.

Why couldn't the FAI have their meeting with Stan at HQ? Have barriers out side the front door and a car waiting. Meeting finishes and Stan goes straight into the car and off he goes......No media humililatgion rubbish.
The FAI go to lengths to plan this etc. what is basically a public relations stunt.
It's a shame they can't put as much effort into planning the football side off their business............

The FAI, if they wish, should be left to have their meetings in private. In any case, I'm sure anyone attending that meeting would not have said anything worthwhile before going in. All that would have happened is a pointless media scrum. RTE could have got 5 minutes on the nine o clock news showing Stan and FAI officials either ignoring the questions or offering no comment. TV3 would have got ten minutes.
I thought it was funny about the poor woman who arrived at the Crowne Plaza in a taxi and found herself surrounded by the media. :D

Bacuse if the did the whole street would have been jammed with reporters, camera crews etc and that's what hey wanted to avoid for right or wrong.
Media humiliation rubbish?? Who cares about the media, the serious journalists didn't have a problem with it and the tabloids and the likes of Paul Hyland humiliate themselves every day with the dross they publish....
Something wrong with poll above. Its saying I have already voted when I havent!
Conspiracy theories abound.........................;)

He didn't.
Well in summary, he did, as anyone who read the article will verify. Unfortunately, there is no link on the net to it available, so it can't be posted here.

What article? Where was it published? I'm genuinely interested, like I said Kilbane was never one of the big boozers in the squad and never has been...
