Pike 4(2 Finucane,1 Boyle,1 Corbett) - Wembley 1(Clark(Deflection from free kick)
Pike Started with 10,badly struggling for numbers forcing both Casey and Connie to play,O'Grady arrived after 10 mins to make it the 11v11,Finucane with the first from a header,Clark replied with a goal deflected off the Pike wall for Wembleys only goal. think that rule where if you are signed on a b form you cant play in the touhy has to go, its a silly rule and it see's clubs struggling to put teams together

well if a big club like pike are struggling to put a side together, im sure there are teams in a lesser position who are either playing illegal players or not fielding teams at all which defeats the purpose

it may be a case of too many cups with the season drawing out as usual. Now there is talk of league games being held until balla are down to their last game, crazy r what. I thinl the ldmc forget this is amateur football........
there should be no games on long weekends, a break for xmas etc. less cups, rather than running to 2-3 weeks before the next season !!

Well they may well have, I'm sure Wembley will be lodging an appeal to the LDMC the fact that Pike played two lads signed on B forms, they are the rules so I'd say Pike will be disqualified.

i doubt it we have enough problems with injury's and the like to be worrying about more games. the sooner the season is over for us the better. we earned a nice long break.

From the mood on Sunday, I'd reckon Connie and lads don't care too much for the Touhy Cup to be honest. Its basically another 2/3(?) games on top of the league and Lawson games left with a season thats dragging on(and probably will with Balla so Far behind in games)

Pike will always try and win, unlike alot of other clubs in this town, which will be seen when balla play their games in hand in the league.

Listen to yourself they do care about the touhy they tried their best to win yesterday, and as for an extra 2-3 games cop yourself on ferguson
Well said, if lads dont have the interest then they shouldnt play. I'm sure the majority enjoy having games in the summer.

i disagree. they have agreed their schedule. The ldmc work around that for games.

yes work around it not play it somewhere else, the lodgers obviously have a schedule but don't decide which games are held there on the nights they're not playing there

wembley had two players who were suspended playing sunday, from what im being told, so they prob wont be lodging any appeal
they had 1 player who was suspended and will not be objecting so case closed.also of course pike would want to win the touhy cup if we didnt we would have started the game with 8 players and gave wembley a better chance of beating us so talk of us not wanting to win it is a joke

Boro 1-2 Regional
boro didn't start playing until they were reduced to 9,Regional could of had a bag full if the ref(who was scandalous, but sure aren't they all)knew the offside rule,he gave at least 6 offsides that clearly weren't,tried to appease the boro by giving the offsides after harshly sending off Alan Barry after awarding him a free(2nd yellow),Mark Sheehan should of been sent off for hauling down Alan Carroll when he was clear through, and Regional should have had a man sent off 5 mins later for an awful foul on Carroll, that said Regional deserved to win,16 year old Dean Glasheen had another solid game at right back,A Carroll and D Hanley also deserve a mention for another committed performance, kept going until the end when others heads had dropped

What is your definition of the offside rule?
do you not know it either jock?surprise, surprise a ref who doesn't know what offside is,well the way i see it is if a player is level or in front of the last 2 opponents when the ball is played he is not offside, this happened a number of times in the Boro Regional match, and offside was given everytime against Regional,at one stage the ball went over the ref's head and he blew for offside without knowing what was happening behind him, little did he know the Regional player was miles onside,i know i haven't covered the entire rule but that is what my post was referring to,i wasn't the only one at the game who thinks his decisions were bad by the way,and please don't PM me again ,i'll answer your questions when it suits me not you;)

whatever about critising refs for making bad decisions in a game but i think it is very harsh complaining about a ref getting offsides right when he is on his own with no linesmen
most people who are compaining are seeing from a far better view then the ref (i.e. sideline or on the pitch) but the ref could be 20/30 yards away and looking from behind the play not even side on and has to try and make a judgement
there are linesmen in EURO 2008 getting it wrong

In front??? i'm positive that means he is offside, in actual fact the offside rule is :
It is not an offence in itself to be in an offside position. A player is in an offside position if:
he is nearer to his opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent.
A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by:
interfering with play or
interfering with an opponent or
gaining an advantage by being in that position.
now when they mean nearer the goal line it covers any part of the main body his/her Head ,body and legs and feet, his or her arms or hands isn't included.
Now your telling me with the fact we are one person who are never going to be in the perfect position every time and without the help of assistant referees and a split second to call it that we are a disgrace and dont know the rules properly. personally i say we are human and we are doing the best we can under the circumstances we are given and a just a little bit of respect in what we do would be appreicated but i know by your reply you have none so we will leave at that
easy tiger, when i say in front i'm actually looking at it from a defenders point of view with his back to the goals, and the attacking player IN FRONT of him,not behind him which would be offside if active or interfering, sorry i didn't have the text book responce for you but i misplaced my rule book, don't take this personnal but the majority of refs in this town aren't the best and thats my opinion, not saying they're all bad but alot are

i understand people have opinions but people have to understand the hardest rule to apply correctly is the offside rule, is he offside is he not, is he interfereing with play or not , is he interfering with opponent. all at the exact moment the ball is touched by player.
the comment was a bit tongue in cheek jock,i'm leaving it at that time to move on

balla deserved the win.
before and after they scored the second goal they had enough chances to score another couple. Pike had a few half chances towards the end but wouldnt have deserved a result
first time in a long time that both teams didnt kick each other off the pitch and surprise surprise some nice football played as a result

Agreed, was at the game and both teams played some good football, Balla had the better of the chances alright, Frank lee's goal was a cracker but he was guilty of missing two sitters after that. I think both teams are so familiar with eachother at this stage there is no need to be kicking eachother off the field which was great to see as it made it a good footballing game, hope we get the same in the Lawson final.

Good to hear this also... if this was the way football in Limerick was played, it wouldnt be long before the standard of football improved.

From what I've heard Pike should have been hockied, Frankie Lee missed a boatful of chances apparently? Shows you the Value of Phil Purcell and Keith Hartnett to Pike. Colm Enright was completely exposed too apparently? Which doesn't surprise me as I and a few others have been thinking that Colm has been coming to the end of his footballing days. Hate to say it for the superb service he's given pike, both as player and committee member. A true Pike man.
