Are there likely to be any new stadiums in the Eircom League next season? What is the latest on UCD's move? What about the new lower division they were talking about - any new clubs and grounds in that? Thanks in advance.

I think UCD should be in the Belfield Bowl for next season.
New stands being built in Waterford, Cobh, Wexford, Pats (I think).
Cobh stand should be finished for this season.
The A leageu will replace the U21 league for next season. Not sure what non current EL clubs will be taking part in it.

I think the seated section (near the dart line) of the Carlisle will be covered at some stage next season.

Stadia.
And yes, UCD will be in the Bowl next season.
Stadia.
Both stadiums and stadia are deemed correct.

Lazy modern usage Dodge - this idea that if enough ignorant people spell something soemthing, then the two spellings are equally valid.

3,000 I think, 1,500 seated.
Will it be seating on one side only ?For the moment anyway.

There's an ambitious multi-phase plan to expand it. I doubt it'll ever go the whole way, short of the eL suddenly becoming extraordinarily popular, but it's in place.

If yee made Europe a few times there might be the incentive to expand the seating - a la Longford and City...... :D
The bowl is a kip!Its geared towards rugby and to be honest it really is nothing special.

Looking at the pictures, it doesn't look like much of an improvement on Belfield but I'll wait to see it in person before criticising.

Taht's just bda speling tho, isn't it? Not the same thing at all. Anyway, if stadium is a Latin word, shouldn't the plural be "stadii"? Or if you're speaking English, you know, "stadiums"
Of course, you may disagree with the common usage but I don't think the foot.ie fora are the appropriate place for this discussion.

Which is why the football club paid for it to be done up?

The stand is far better. I can't understand how people fail to notice that.

I wonder if the seats will take all the jumping like Belfield:D

Now, I'm no structural engineer, but I reckon the concrete under them should be a bit sturdier than the old planks in Belfield Park.

Thankfully you spotted it just in time so. A really vital interception:rolleyes:

Wexford Youths are waiting on their planning permission. Ambitious plans club shop, new dressing rooms. Unblocked view from any seat no pillars that kind of design.

It's dug into the ground hence the bowl name.

What does a groove dug into the ground for a stadium look like? It's a bowl shape.

Case in point!!
I think the key to your comment is the 7 YEARS BIT!!!!
Plus I think you will find there is only 2 poles in a 3,000 seat stand......
Jesus!!

That's the existing roof, which doesn't cover the new seats. I think it's supposed to be replaced next year or something.

As well as the Belfield Bowl there might be another new ground in the league next season ;)
No way, we'll never get the new Finn Park built that quickly.

Those fudging monkeys, ill have to whip them all the harder now and less food and water breaks :p
You've been there since they did it up?
Yes.Im up there 5 days a week.
Not trying to be too down on it as its nice to see clubs make an effort. But at the moment there really is verry little difference between the new ground and the old one apart from the fact that the new one is in hole. Plus rugby will be on this now so the pitch is going to see a lot of use.

Seriously, how thick are you? Just compare the two stands ffs.

I consider that a personal attack.I know its not going to happen but on any other forum you would be banned.
If you read back over my comment you will see that i did. Its almost exactly the same as belfield. The only difference is that its in a hole.Keeping up?
