Yes.Im up there 5 days a week....... Plus rugby will be on this now so the pitch is going to see a lot of use.
Yes that's our masterplan to prevent us losing so many home games... clever eh? :D

If you read back over my comment you will see that i did. Its almost exactly the same as belfield. The only difference is that its in a hole.Keeping up?
Yes, but you're not. The current stand is a few seats placed on benches. The new one has a proper concrete base.

Anyone wondering what belfields new stadium is like, please take the above sentance as a mark of its quality and difference between the current belfield stadium.

What else would you judge a stadium on? How nice the shop is?

How big the stand is. How many stands there are. The terracing. The pitch. take your pick.

Stand is bigger.
Standing around the ground, same as Belfield Park.
One stand, with plans for more.
Pitch seems to have a better surface, have to see how it is during the overlap with the rugby season.
Better facilites for players and spectators also.

So really all that summed up is that the stand is slightly bigger. There is no terrace. The pitch will be in bits during the overlap with the rugby season but it does have a nice shop....

Such a shame that it's only almost twice the size.
You haven't a clue what you're on about.

Ah yes. When i loose a debate plese delete all evidence. See were your coming from all right.;)
Facts are it has one stand which is no great shakes(Oh but it does have a concrete base:rolleyes:). It has no terracing. And its being used for rugby as well. Let other fans make their mind up. I know non e.league fans in the college who actually laughed when i said that thats the new stadium. They couldnt believe that something so new would be so poor and that the e.league must really be poor standard if this is what its producing! But believe whatever helps you sleep.

Quiz;
Which are the only 2 league grounds in Dublin not owned by property developers?
Clue: They're both in Belfield.

Two questions.
1. What's the elevation like in the stand? It seems from the pictures that it's quite flat.
2. How do the players get onto the pitch?
Quiz:
Who have the 2 worst grounds in dublin? I'll give you a clue, they're both in belfield.

2. How do the players get onto the pitch?1. The elevation's fine. It's probably a little flatter than the old ground but the stand starts right at the pitch, not 3 yards back so it's OK.
2. There's a seperate 'players and officials'' area to one side of the changing rooms that's fenced off from the spectators area and a seperate set of stairs down to the pitch.

If anyone finds the architect who designed that flat stand with poles galore for the roof please cut his arms off so he won't be able to design such sh1te ever again.
If that's the best cheapo stand we can design in Ireland in 2007 god help us.

Anyway, if stadium is a Latin word, shouldn't the plural be "stadii"?
Neutral word - declension is like bellum -
Bellum
Bellum
Bellum
Belli
Bello
Bello
Bella
Bella
Bellas
Bellarum
Bellis
Bellis
"Stadii" would be the nominative plural of "Stadius".
I wonder does John83 walk to the stadium or to the stadio?
I consider that a personal attack.I know its not going to happen but on any other forum you would be banned.

If you've a problem with a post, report it. Otherwise, stfu and stop dragging the thread off topic.
However, he's right - you are clearly wrong. It's similar in that it's one sided. Other than that, there are few similarities.

Was designed years ago. Work isn't finished on the stand and is far from cheap.

How many times does it have to be said? The roof was there for years and is to be replaced at some point next year with a cantilever stand, i.e. one with no poles. The view from the stand is fine so I don't think its flatness is a problem.

Yes i am clearly wrong!Who am i to disagree with a ucd person! The grounds are strikingly similar in style and if you cant see that then maybe you should pull that gorgeous mop of hair out of your eyes. I have outlined my thoughts above on the ground and if you find any of them incorrect please tell me.
I am more then willing to let others judge on it when they see it. But i've seen it about 5 minutes ago and believe it or not it is still desperately dissapointing!

The Bowl has a stand twice as big. It has a solid concrete base unlike the Park's wooden stand and it will have proper coloured seats. It will have an unobstructed view and it will be roofed cantavalier style and the floodlights will be in the corners, unlike the Park's view obstructed by both. It will also have modern and more toilet facilities and units built into the stand. The Bowl includes state of the art dressing rooms and associated facilities (ice baths etc.) in comparison to the Park's modest facilities. It's an unpgrade and a step in a forward direction and not very like Belfield Park.

It is a bit like Belfield Park, it has a main stand and a path around the pitch.

This just isn't true. It's got four corners and a big green thing. What more do you want????!!

Well I have changed my mind , given how sh!t we have been at home this season, ( 6 league defeats and rising) I am looking forward to the change of venue now ;)
Plans for Harps new stadium across the river in Stranorlar about 10 min walk from Finn Park, it will be at least two seasons(if not more) before the move.
