well i saw a post on the site saying that if someone wanted to know anything just ask so after the game i asked a load of questins and got answers to all of them all the 21s are on amatur contracts with 37 cause they couldnt play without a contract they will need to be released by the club if they leave before the end of the full season not just the 21s season
they have picked 7 players from the 21s to look at offerign contracts for next seasom and will meet them withtheir parents
i even got an answr when i asked about how much they would be offered but in a round about way the club will be giving free doctor and physio free jym and health checks including the heart monitoring every 2 months as well as paying for all coaching badges for the players free insurance and a whole load of other stuff that adds up in the year so talk of someone been offered 35 is crap when you take all the other stuff intoit i would be very happ to have my son sign cause they seem to want to help the young lads up the ladder
i asked as well about the oscar traynor squad and 37 are running that for the league and it seems to be run very well by judgeand barrett all the players got kit from 37 for training and the keepers got gloves as well

all my questions were all answered so if you lot want to ask some go to the shop or call the club i was happy after a chat

good season despite the begrudgers

So the players do need to get a release.

Also good to see that the club are willing to invest in the young players and also look after them where their health is concerned. Hopefully a good few of them will sign and go on to be successful with the club.

P.S. Hope your not putting me with all the begrudgers ;)

Ya i found out today by asking one of the U-21 players that they do need to get a release. Appartently some of the players have already asked for this release which is a pity but hopefully the club can hold on to the majority of them!!

Youthful memories a bit muddled :o

Fcuk it Cals sounded funnier anyway

Besides shouldn't this be in the over-40s thread not the under-21s thread?? :p

I dont think so to be honest!! From what I heard a lot of the U-21 players want to go back to their Junior Clubs because they are sick of the travelling etc... Its a pity like because it was a talented squad. I suppose if they dont have the commitment to play for their city and county then leave them go. :ball:

No sure Cobh is only and hour and a half journey, well more if you hire a Joe Lawlor bus ;)

Don't see the problem with Clarke going back tbh

He's more than welcome to sign for the u-20s again providied he's good enough

I wouldn't have offered him a senior deal in a million years

Attitude is awful

To be honest any of the players who want to go back to junior football full-time are showing a lack of ambition and off with them. If three or four of these players come through to play regularly for the first team it'd be a success. Billy Barrett's done a great job overall with them anyway.

You havnt a clue,Shane Clarke is defiantely good enough, everyone who has seen him play would say the same,he started 1 game for the senior side and scored 2 goals, and was just 17 at the time. Why would you want to knock a young player for? "attitude is awful"-whats that based on...?

I have to agree with you there on that one. He has been capped at Under age level for Ireland, got trials with Plymouth and West Brom as far as I know. He has scored in nearly every single U-21 match I have been at this season. If anyone doesnt have the attitude its harkin, he thinks hes too good for Limerick. I dont think hes knocking the player to be honest just basing this on what we have seen of him this season. Hes only 17/18 and has a great future in my opinion. He did ask to back to Wembly a few months ago, so yes one could question his attitude, but hes young and with good managment he should be a good player. By the way, did anyone get that L37 Update from Ger Finnin this evening. It said that 6 of the U-21 players have signed contracts for the first team for next season. Does anyone have any idea who these players are? My guess would be Danagher, Tierney, Harrington, White, Clarke?? and Donie Curtain

maybe you shoul say this to player to his face instead of ignoring him when he confronts you about it.

he was offered a contract with the senior squad but went back to wembly to play his last year of youth football.

i know that it is your opinion but it proves that you dont have a clue about football...

He is still minor?

If thats the case then why not go back playing youth football. Hopefully he is thinking along the lines of previous u21 players that went back playing youth/junior once the 21s was over but then resigned the following season. There is nothing wrong with that, maybe he just wants to play football and feels he wont get a good chance with the first team yet.

You havnt a clue

I know as much about LoI football as the majority of posters here thanks

Although you wont mind me not caring what you think either way pearse??

Shane Clarke is defiantely good enough

He's a fine underage player and probably a fine junior player

,everyone who has seen him play would say the same

No they wouldn't.....

he started 1 game for the senior side and scored 2 goals

Against a mediocre Junior Side (Still well done though)

and was just 17 at the time.

Fair play to him, honest.

Why would you want to knock a young player for?

I'm doing no such a thing

"attitude is awful"-whats that based on?

His Attitude..............D'uh

maybe you shoul say this to player to his face instead of ignoring him when he confronts you about it.

Is this some kind of hilarious threat or just poorly written??

Has this confrontation happened??

Or is it coming??

Wise up leather FFS

A very wise move on his part.

Shows maturity. :ball:

Real original input there leather, Bravo........

Lads, all the knicker wringing about Shane Clarke is unecessary, really.

I've no problem with the youngfella, I don't know him from Adam FFS, I can only go by what I see on the field.

At the moment he dives too much and doesn't put in the spadework to play LoI football. Simple as that. Nothing to do with his personality

BTW the way ye are going on you'd swear I was some one man hate campaign against the youngfella.

Well the majority of Limerick fans who've seen him will tell you the exact same thing I'm telling you now.

Good Prospect. Not ready for the LoI yet. Which is why going back to Junior is a good thing.

Comprende??

your not alone on this one LTID, im firmly on your side if there need be a side on the quality of mr clarke. some very blinkerd views from persons who have "interests" in the player by way of coaching and club affiliations making their points and best of luck to them, but hes not good enough for senior yet and i hope his stint at minor/junior serves him well.
