Well I know there are premier ties on, but everyone knows the match of the night is here in Tolka Park where midland giants Athlone Town, are being hosted by Shelbourne (Rovers...according to some publications). We are using our hugely dated but none the less effective Live Updates to relay the match to the land of t'internet. You can gain access to this by clicking....

They've nothing up front either. O'Donovans better off out wide and he's off to Sunderland soon. They'll struggle on this evidence

Good game on the telly. Sligo can fairly move it about since Cook took over. Though once people cotton onto the repeated backheel trick, that might change! :p
Dundalk on an awful run of form; good for our Cup game, but bad for my bet at the start of the season for them to win the league... Can see Harps beating them in the play off.

Wasn't there, was getting texts from my brother. Too depressed to ask him about the crowd. Monaghan really do see the Dundalk fixture as their big game and rarely fail to embarrass us.

In fairness, Cobh are 20 games unbeaten or something at this stage. If that's not momentum...

My match report:
Monaghan United 2 Dundalk 0......HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
Aw sorry am just delighted...It is our world cup when we beat them.
Too hyper to do a report now Marco so u will have to wait.
Crowd was big but not sure on figures. Good home support but only noticed it after we scored!
Am hoarse. Says it all really.
Oh and I think Cobh mite still do it. Dundalk were not the team that they should b considering the lead they had built up earlier in the season. Philly who???

Brilliant stuff. Dundalk looked more likely most of the way but didn't really trouble Rouse (fine keeper btw) too much. Yeer number 9 worked his ass off from start to finish and then yeer number 10, who'd spent the previous 85 mins scratching his arse and little else runs two past the Dundalk keeper.:D
I've rarely seen such a sorry more dejected looking bunch of supporters than those Dundalk folks ...who's mockney chanting, while being admirable for it's consistency for 85 mins, trailed off almost instantly once the first goal went in. I shouldn't laugh -I'd have been sickened to the pits if it'd been Limerick -but still ...priceless.
Well done Mighty Mons!!!

Hey Lionel, u should have come up to say hello to me! I was the one announcing the goals & I have to say it was the thrill of the year for me to be able to announce "Monaghan United 2 Dundalk 0 and the goal scorer was Willie Doyle again!" Aw will go down as one of the best moments of my life!

Good game on the telly. Sligo can fairly move it about since Cook took over.
The first half was very good. Both sides kept the ball on the ground and played some good stuff. Sligo threathned early on and could have scored more than once. Cork scored against the run of play (great ball from Farrelly btw) which brought them back into the game and ended the second half strong. I thought Devine and the wall could have prevented Sligo's second- good free all the same though. Sligo killed the game after that, which was fair enough.
Cook has really transformed Sligo- for their sake they'll want to make sure they hang on to Judge and Kudozovic, the best strike partnership in the league. They're playing some good stuff and have sorted their defence out.

Sligo were good tonight, still Cork should have beaten them.
At least they came and tried to play a bit unlike Drogheda.

Cup . . . Brandywell . . . please don't use those two words together. Sorry, I'm still traumatised. :o
Still, delighted with tonight. Only a pity Boyd couldn't have celebrated his debut by putting that rasper six inches lower.
