I also emailed them saying I couldn't get through. They emailed me back saying the tickets I wanted (2 for the 12.25 monday) were held for me and I could email them back to confirm. This was yesterday (wednesday) lunchtime. I'm in the Uk and the tickets arrived in the post this morning(thursday)!! Unreal! Cost 56stg for 2 second class.

There's a fast train that leaves about 6.30ish in the AM and it was the train used in the James Bond film, Casino Royale, apparently.

Seriously? That sounds great. I might try and get that. Mind you, 6.30 is bloody early.

With the cheap beer in mind, this might be a stupid question but is anyone planning to get the first train on the Monday? I think its at about 8 in the monring or thereabouts. Thats the one i'm hoping to get and i'm just wondering if i'll have a chance of getting a seat.

To be honest it was the idea of cheap beer from the night before that ruled out the 8am train for us on Monday

Got tickets posted over by the mother of my slovakian flat mate. 20 euro each for tickets on the train on Monday afternoon. Gives us plenty of time to relax and recover on Sunday and take it easy and then head up on the Monday afternoon.

Cause they booked over the net with the German rail company. The slovak or czechs dont do internet bookings but I was lucky enough that I live with a nice slovakian girl who got her Ma to buy the tickets for me and send them over.

OH no way we are not drinkin on the train.

Going from Koln to Stuttgart last year with a truckload of liquid was not a problem except for the conductor pestering us for a few more cans for himself and his co-workers

Can you imagine that train journey when after we have beaten the Slovaks! Could be the highlight of the trip. Anyone for a game of Poker?

Lucky *******, I think there were 2 trains leaving at 12:25, one that took 4 hours direct and one that took 4 and a half hours with one stop...I wouldn't worry, what can possibly happen in 30 minutes....'Hostel' cough, cough....
