I was indeed. It was of its time, certainly no better than Tolka, Oriel or Dalymount of the same era. Was also at the '87 cup final (3-0 :( ) and witnessed a last ditch half-time protest at the closure of Miltown, sad times for the club on the back of four successive league titles. The sooner Rovers get settled in Tallaght the better.

Agree it was of its time but to say it was a dump is plain wrong. Covered seating and terrace and a function room as well as one of the best pitches in Europe.

Re that Cup Final was on the pitch too.

Does anyone have any photos of Milltown (before it closed as a football ground, in case there are any smart arses out there!). It closed before I was properly aware of its existence.

Does anyone remember when Rovers played at the RDS? Now that was the worst ground for any fans! You were miles from the pitch. Morton Stadium was the same. But no matter what angle you were looking from, that 6-4 victory was still excellent to watch:D.

Hey, Galway United beat Rovers 5 - 2 at the RDS when they were top of the league! It was as sweet as Bohs' 6-4 game.

Is it true that all players had to get a tetnus injection before they played on the RDS pitch because of all of the horsesh!t on the pitch.
:D

Love the fact that it's in down a bowl though, makes it completely unique
Not once the Belfield Bowl is open.

MojoPin dont mind him hes a complete WUM

our floodlights are a disgrace, theres always some bulbs out, of course we cant lay a hand on them. The same goes for the pitch, we cant touch it because WUFC only get access to the ground the afternoon of the match:mad::(

I was impressed with the floodlights on the side of the new stand in Sligo.

Just goes to show what sort of a game it was when I can take time out to admire two pylons.

its true, waterford united have the best deal in the country, rent free for life,

Your rent free deal, doesn't enhance the experience of the visiting supporter. Nothing will detract from the reality that the RSC is more soul less than Belfield Park! The complete absence of safety measures, is quite simply criminal.
The Morton Stadium is a better facility than the RSC, but neither are football stadiums.

OK. Soulless, yes. But complete absence of safety measures? Give me a break.

Not actually. Never heard that before Paddyfield! Although we did win the league that season.

In the first season it was recommended to the players to take the injections but it wasnt mandatory.
