Might just be an English league rule : I rememebr Joey Beauchamp signing for West Ham from Oxford, changed his mind but couldn't go back to Oxford.
Suppose that a loan got get round it anyway...

Though we'd definately have to lose at least one keeper before we bring one in.
I'm sure you'd be gutted!

Beauchamp claimed he signed for West Ham by mistake and wanted to leave to Swindon. I think the problem there may have been West Ham being slight peeved that the player they signed turned around two days later and came out with such a remarkable comment!

Yep, Der Blonde Bomber.
Nicknamed that in Athlone after he almost back heeled
himself in the head trying a diving header.

Also, the worst player to ever score a hat-trick against us

Dunno how true the rumour is cos I dunno if I heard it or just
made it up while on the beer on Saturday

Jeeze! Just coz I had a friendly pitchside chat with Leeza on Fri nite when he was warming the bench for Longford doesnt mean he is coming back to us....;) ;)

jaysus i thought clarke was doing well

scully seems to always release players early

He does, but he hasn't been wrong yet (I don't think)
Seems to let players go because of their attitude as much as ability it appears.

He's also on a strict budget and if he wants to bring in someone, he has to let go of someone first

Scully knows what he's doing and while I'm gutted for Clarkey, in Scully we trust.

The Longford exodus I heard was :
- Freeman to Dundalk
- Prunty to Athlone
- Lee to Monaghan

Prunty to Athlone? I was thinking more along the lines of Prunty to Rovers or Pats. He trains with Pat's some days aswell.

The other 2 can go.

I thought he was based in Longford?
Probably where the rumour started, the assumption
that if Longford go t!ts up he might stay local.

A guy at work was talking to Prunty at the weekend and he said he's probably going to Pats.

normally hear loads of roumers about players coming in and going out but haven't heard a single on yet. We are very short on strikers though, the only thing is that there is a real shortage of good stikers in the league that are available at the moment. Dave Mooney is the only one i can think of, i'd take Robbie Doyle back in a heart beat as well, but we would need to play him in his proper position up front rather than out on the right of midfield. He would scor goals if played up front, especially with the good service we are supplying this season.

Isn't Robbie Doyle signing for Drogheda?

Has anyone confirmed if Robbie Clarke has defo been released? very suprised. thought he was a regular in one of the best defence's in the Lge? This happened him a few seasons ago when Dublin City(remember them?) got promoted for the first time.good enough for the Premier Lge IMO

Yep, they live together in a house in Celbridge I think. Kirby has a girlfriend in Longford though and I heard they're building a house together in Longford.

Oooh, good rumour. I was just thinking about this last night when Roddy was on the radio saying that every Dublin based manager would have to watch their backs because there was a top quality unemployed manager ready to step in and take over. Of course, he probably meant himself. :)

I don't think it would work between Fenlon and Kerr - Johnny Mac knows he was lucky enough to still have the job so would be more willing to put up with interference. I also wouldn't want Nutsy having any access to our vast, vast millions.

Sheridan

I doubt Kerr has the seniority to make or influence those kind of decisions either.

Dodge
08/06/2007, 1:18 PM
Kerr is basically in charge of the whole club. Whatever he wants, he gets.

Sheridan
08/06/2007, 1:20 PM
Is he? I didn't know that, I thought he was a titular director of football or something. Is that entirely wise, considering he'd cut and run in an instant if a suitable managerial job came up?

Dodge

It might be more of a consultancy role until the Shelbourne Development people have an idea about football. All I know is that I'm a lot happier with Brian Kerr involved in the club.

Wouldn't read too much into Kerr having a coffee/drink with one of his ex players. LOI football in Dublin is a very small world, he was probably asking him about a couple of ex Shels players we're more han likely to sign on July 1st

No Kerr, no Kelleher was pretty much the deal as I understand it. According to what was said at the announcement, Kerr turned the job down for a while so as not to step on Johnny's toes.

He's fast. Not as fast as he used to be, though. Other than that he's pretty ineffective and usually anonymous (particularly when the studs are flying.) He does have a good engine, but it's in his fancy car.

I think even that is being generous to him. Seems a nice enough guy though

No he isnt - he might be lacking a bit of skill but hes actually a pretty intelligent player or at least he was when he was with us. Maybe he has dumbed down in accordance with the surroundings at pats.

Well last year, when we were **** and played rubbish football, he looked out of his depth

This year, when we're top of the league and playing lovely football, he's totally out of his depth

Tries hard though. Good luck to him in Dundalk

I maybe wrong here but giving a team talk at half time isn't exactly keeping his distance

But that's my point - Kerr knew he was never going to ignore team affairs if he came back to Pats and thought he could make a difference.

Not them its ******** *** who will be running the club, and a look at their team shows they know full well how to run a club from the ground up.

Kerr also had a chat with Houllier, could be our new manager or maybe it was the Coaching seminar.
