 Do you believe everything you read? Ever hear of sarcasm?
When you explain it, it makes him seem less stupid.

Kerr is going to be an advisor to Johnny Mc Donnell in relation to First team matters. He will be scouting new players etc and advising on opponents etc.
The sort of detailed data Brian did on his own behalf when he was Pat's manager and the intertnational team.

Is someone going to start an official transfers thread? I seem to remember an attempt to start one a few weeks back. Be nice to have all the comings and goings in one place.

It looks like Mr. Turner will not be going anywhere until the end of season, according to SC in the Mirror. He has apparently picked up a knee ligiment injury and will be out for at least 6 weeks

Unfortunate for Sligo as I think we were prepared to meet their financial demands to get him early.

Bohs look like signing Stephen Dawson from Mansfield & Dean Richardson from Celtic. Also heard we're in for Michael Keane of Rotherham. It's been very quite on the rumour front so far!

Good stuff :D - he's a big Rovers fan and his bro is playing Rovers too IIRC.

I don't think the Keane thing is a runner, apparently we were not willing to meet his wage demands

Why would Pat's sign Dave Rogers?
Why would Pat's sign Dave Rogers?
Been on the cards for over a month now, he had issues "policing" the playing area in Derry so we bought/they ****ed out. JMC wants a better left sided player than Frost so signed him.

I think Frost is better. Rogers looked so bad in his last game against UCD, I mean really woeful. He stepped off and showed a player the inside, who was already a yard inside of him. Bad signing in my opinion.

I agree but I'll give him time. Keane is a good signing, competition for either wing-back role or the holding role in midfield.

We've re signed leon McSweeney from Unibond League Giants Ilkeston Town
http://www.corkcityfc.ie/home.htm
He left us for Leicester City about 6 years ago.
Needless to say i'm putting a months wages on us winning the league now. Yipee. etc etc.
we signed Roy O'Donovan from glenthorn celtic. no point in judging a player by his club.

alan keely rumoured to be leaving waterford to sign for daddy at Shels!!
I heard Robbie Clarke is leaving us for Shels. Great signing for them if it's true. He was one of our best players in DIv 1 last year.

What's up the whole Jason Byrne transfer stories to Pat's? E118,000 is the price in the papers. Must be rubbish?

Quite a persistent rumour. Not to mention the rumoured €5000 a week Pats are allegedly offering

This must be the same as the Sean Thornton & Willo Flood rumours? Rumour had that that they were offered the same.

I know for a FACT that Willo Flood was never offered anything by Pats. No player will be paid €5k by Pats

That's just mental. Shels are second bottom and 25 points off promotion - why don't they just write the rest of the season off, concentrate on saving their pennies to pay for next year's (or the year after's) rent at wherever they end up:confused:
If anything, increasing their wage bill could damage their chances of staying in Division 1. Even if they do finish in the bottom two, they would certainly be re-elected (if this still exists:confused:) if they showed the club was now being run responsibly.

We're only signing as many players as we're getting rid of and they're all loan/free transfers.
I see where you're coming from though.
Heard Sammy Morrow is signing for Derry as well from Hibs, hes been training with us for last 2 or 3 weeks and has agreed terms. Drogs and Linfield were also after him

Michael Keane is a very good signing. I remember Mary Harrington (think that’s her name) raving about him in her Planet Football column in Mondays Irish times. When he was at Preston he was a top man, I think he may have slipped back the list a little since though?

Mary Hannigan isn't it? She must have read it in the Guardian, she hasn't had an original thought in her life.
KOH
Ah now, she's up to speed on schools hockey for girls which gets as much coverage as our league when its on:eek:
Keane's another one of those highly rated youngsters that end up doing nothing. Hate Rogers so am probably too subjective to say what he's actually like as a footballer. Don't know anything about the Scottish lad
If O'Neill's out for at least 8 weeks (possibly the season) we desparately need a striker (we did anyway!)
PS hannigan is a ****
Sheridan
03/07/2007, 2:06 PM
I agree with Dodge on both counts, I can see Michael Keane being another Michael Foley-Foley-Sheridan, a poster boy for the national team geeks and journos who then gets found out in the eL. And I doubt Mary Hannigan has ever been to a football match.
Rogers is as solid a defender as you'll find in the eL, much of his reputation as a braindead hatchet-man is based on his appearance and background to be honest. The sad fact is that he's probably technically superior to 80% of eL defenders.

Wednesdays local paper says that we wont be signing any new players at the moment due to the amount of injurys we have and cant release any due to this. The club run a tight budget down here
But then again rumours circulating that the manager resigned today so all that might change.
