Steve, I think that he is now aware of the fact that players live close by, given previous responses. I don't think there is any need for the aloof patrionising tone you have taken.
Woo-hoo ! :D
I don't think there's any need for uninformed stupidity either, and will tickle it with my aloof patronising tone whenever I doth desireth..... :p

Hardly. Farrelly got more time than Fenlon.
And more fool you lot for that !!
All this from fans of the club that had the ego-driven wisdom to dispose of Stephen Kenny because of one bad result in Europe. Priceless....

Stephen Kenny had a budget comparable to Fenlon and we were out of the title race mid season. We also went out of the cup to (I think it was) Kildare.
Anyway, scenario - Connor gets the chop for the poaching incident (if true) Fenlon comes to us, Connor goes to Derry.

Not the only reason why he was sacked!
He had the biggest budget in the clubs history and we were rubbish that season IN THE LEAGUE.
He couldn't handle the pressure going into the home game with Leavdia, made a stupid team selection call and lost his job.
Rightfully so!

U can keep that Connor bucko at Bohs, he's a spoofer.
Maybe, Roddy could take him to Louis Copelands to sort out the red tracksuit thing and the two of them could get the next ferry out of Dublin, we would all be happy

David Jeffries is favourite apparently
Jeffrey can't take the job. He's a mad Christian and won't manage on a Sunday, apparently.

By the way it's David Jeffrey.
Also there is a better chance of Sven becoming the new Derry City manager than David Jeffrey.
David Jeffrey is on a hefty wage at Windsor, doing a part-time job. He is also a big wig Social worker. So it would take one hell of a pay check to tempt him to Derry City.
That's not to mention the fact that he is a big blueman and wouldn't leave to join another club on this island(unless NI national team job was offered he would consider it).

If you knew him, you wouldn't believe that for a second. Although he does insist he is a Christian, but would admit a terrible advert for a Christian.

He is also a big wig Social worker. Is that a deliberate pun?
"social worker"...I suppose everything has a nickname these days

I don't know him and still find it hard to believe.

That's your call. Maybe you should go onto the Irish League forums and ask the rest of the Linfield support. Any of them that know him would back it up.

So it safe to say Steve knows nowt about DCFC, ok can your handle name be changed to just to plain all steve in case people ever think that you may have knowladge or an insight into of Derry City FC. David Jeffries would be a good man to get imo.
Regards,
RT :)
Can anyone translate this please... ?

From the fan of the club that had the ego-driven wisdom to appoint Fenlon when the dogs on the street knew he was a chequebook manager. ;)
So who should we have appointed instead ?
Name me one other decent manager who was available (Obviously means not Shoddy, or the sort of mid-table ones that UCD invariably gravitate towards... :D).

Mike Newell would be the ideal manager imo. He only got sacked when his Chairman made him sell all his best players at Luton.

Ignoring the fact that the man received the same schooling in equality issues that Ron Atkinson did, I suspect he'd want way too much money for us.
Though I'm sure there would be a manager somewhere in England who'd fancy the challenge of making something of an EL club (like Allardyce in his early days with limerick).
Our big problem is that the only real positives we have to offer a manager are
a first round seeding in the Champions League, a decent board, and a passionate fanbase. The downsides are that the supposedly best Manager in Ireland lasted only 6 months with us, we have a wreck of a stadium with no resolution in-sight, and are 11 points off the top of the league after only 11 games. In balance, not the most tempting set-up for an ambitious manager....

Funny that, on your forum (http://www.derrycitychat.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13070), Pete Mahon is being mentioned on the "Who would you like as manager" thread. ;)
I assume you'll appoint someone now who was probably available five months ago. So it was much a knee jerk reaction for Bohs to sack Kenny as for youz to appoint Fenlon. It's not as if the last few months have been a surprise.

In fairness, Fenlon was the safe option. He had a proven track record (cheque book or otherwise).
The fact we were bookies favourites for the title reflected expectations on him.
Maybe they were a bit unrealistic, but its very easy to pick holes in the decision with 20/20 hindsight.

Agreed. But there were many who were questioning his ability before he jonied Derry. There's a couple of threads here, for example; will dig one up if I can be bothered.

If say you put Fenlon up against Doolin (the king of chequebook management), I'd still take Fenlon anyday.

That's like taking a root up the hole over losing an arm though.

Well a root up the hole may bring some initial pain but the experience will make you stronger in the long run. Losing an arm is just inconvenient full stop.

I'm not so sure BP

I suppose in hindsight the bitterness between Derry and Shels last season was very much down to Nutsy so it might not have been the best idea to appoint him straight away.

Because he doesn't want birds running the line or reffing? Fair play to him.
Would be nice if we did get him as manager.
