Very sorry to hear this news. Only met him once or twice, but it's still very sad to hear of someone dying so young.
Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Again, I only know wws through his posts on this MB and the old eircom league MB, although I'm sure I may have met him if he played in any of the friendly matches we do organise every now and again.
I too am shocked to hear about is passing. If anybody is going to print this thread and pass it on to his family, I'd like to send my sympathies and condolenses to them. May he rest in peace and Pat's do well in Europe!

Terrible news.
Perhaps naively, you just don't expect anyone on here to die ! I guess it's cuz you just assume everyone here is young and in good health.
Looks like the Pats team will do him proud this season though, as a fitting tribute.
RIP

I don't think i met WWS but i know a few people who do and by all accounts he was a lovely and very funny bloke. Despite never knowing him this news has absolutley shocked the hell out me and i'm shaking just typing this. He was one of the eLOI community so he was one of us.
God bless his family and friends.
May he rest in peace

I have to say I am in utter shock just sitting here reading this thread. While I only met wws the once like many other posters I read his comments with interest through the years right back to JW's old site.As someone else says its news like this that puts everything else into perspective!
He is a huge loss to his family, St. Pats and the EL as a whole. He will be sorely missed by all who ever had the pleasure to meet him.
To his family and friends may I offer my heart felt condolences.
RIP wws - A true EL man!
Really nice guy, very funny, will be sadly missed.
RIP

Truly devastated when I got the news and still can't really come to terms with it. Peter was a good friend through football, music and beer and I'll never forget his unique humour.
I'm gonna miss you Pat's bloke, rest in peace.
Still cannot believe I am typing this. Can only echo what's already been said. The strength of his family throughout this, and especially his brother (who is known to read these pages occasionally), has been nothing short of miraculous.

I knew Peter by talking to him on this forum and i met him a few times up in dublin at games, we used to PM each other regularly, a great LOI supporter, i am stunned by this news, i knew he was in hospital but didnt think it was that serious.
Your at peace now Peter and with God, RIP my friend !

My condolences to his family
I met the guy a few times, in Mcdowells and I think at the old EL groupings at the ireland matches but like most knew him from the banter on the various EL messageboards whether it be JW's old eircomleague.net or the v v v old Redboys messageboard.. where'd he love nothing more then wading into a mass of cork city fans.. and wind us up no end.. but always with great wit and intelligence..you could almost see the smile :) at the other end as he was typing his commentary.. thats what I will remember about wws
Had heard he was sick but this news is shocking indeed for someone so young.
RIP Peter.

Cant believe this to be honest. I only knew him through here, but like everyone else here i'd imagine we all saw him a really decent bloke, great for a bit of banter and he always livened the place up. It definitely puts things into perspective alright. Thoughts are with his family now. May he rest in peace.

RIP wws
He was an unbelievable man, I'll never forget him.
Couldnt have put it better
RIP Peter
I am totally and utterly stunned. Like many, I also got to know Peter from JW's old message board and met him before Harps games in McDowells when we played Pats. One of life's good guys and was what the League of Ireland should be all about.
Very, very sad news.
Rest in Peace World Wide Saint.

From reading his posts in the Pats forum from less than 2 weeks ago its shocking to think that he was taken away so quickly. He seemed to be looking forward to St Pats lifting the Setanta Cup. It would be nice to see a minute's silence at the next home match for St Pats seen that he was obcessed with Pats. Maybe somebody here could mention it to the Pats board?

I don't think they need to be told in fairness and i'd say there'll be a minutes silence at most grounds in the country over the weekend.

I presume it was put there by Bohs' fans as it was in their 'zone'. Fair play to them. At tragic times like this one we must all put our rivalries aside and respect other fans. We all love our clubs but people come first.
I heard the full story tonight at the game and it's just amazing that something awful like that can happen. Very, very sad.

Lads as someone who knew Peter personally I can tell you how much this thread means to his family and friends
I'm in tears typing this after spending a night with the SEI, his friends around the league and his family.
Without a shadow of a doubt today and the last week has been one of the worst times of my life.
From me and all the other crew, thank you to Peter and his manicness

I got to spend yesterday with his friends and some of his family. They are bowled over by the level of his popularity, within league circles. I'm in tears reading everything that's been written here.

I only met Peter once when he was in Dalymount - he was a gas man that night.
It was a real shock to hear he died so suddenly. Puts all this football thing into perspective.
Good luck to you wws wherever you have gone to - but I'd say you're bullin now that Pats are good again.
Deepest condolences to the family.

The genuine football family is a small one and to get the gunk that a relative newcomer to this forum like myself got on hearing the news, speaks volumes for the humour and knowledge that shone through wws’s posts here. May He Rest in Peace.

I'd just like to echo the sentiments already expressed.
I never knew the man but read his posts in the short time I've been on here myself.
Like everyone else I was and am genuinely shocked and saddened.
May he rest in peace.
