So what was in Wednesdays Mirror, page 15?

That Hunter fella claimed he was on a BBC radio show earlier in the day talking about the Anthem being played and possible trouble. He may have mentioned Rovers on that too.
Didn't read it myself but I 'm told it was Hunter himself!

I know paper tiger threats of litigation which subside once they've served their purpose are the stock-in-trade of Shamrock's PR operation
Correction - you know NOTHING about Rovers. What a load of abject, pathetic waffle!

I hope Rovers kick Hunters ass on this.
Hope he ends up forking out 1000s in legal fees and in settlement payments!
Whats the odds if it gets to court that Hunter will want to represent himself!?
But as someone else said RTE have him on speeddial ... sad but prob true!
bhs
Gerry Ryan did not announce Hunter as a representative of anything or anyone.
Hunter did suggest that the Mirror said Rovers fans would be joining a SF protest intent on causing trouble. Gerry Ryan repeated this & never challenged the accuracy of that.
That would seem to suggest a precedent that anyone can get onto 2FM & make outlandish claims without any proof.
I remember now why haven't listened to Gerry Ryan in 10 years. His standard ploy on slow news days is to get someone to basically windup listeners. I suppose it worked for Dunphy in his Indo days too.

Trouble at Doyles corner apparantely, probably the usual kids
more then just kids at it i`m afraid. the missus got caught up in some of it earlier.
aberdeen casuals have a bad reputation, i`d say most of their scumbags banned from UK grounds travelled over.
I wonder will they move on up to croker tomorrow.....

and got a reply saying my complaint was forwarded to the head of the program,a siobhan hough, and also to the head of sport at rte too.so at least they took some notice of it.

From what I've been told, it was Hunter himself talking about it, but Rovers are not mentioned anywhere.
I'm sure if it ever came to it, the Irish Football Supporters Assoc. would stump up their ambassador Hunter's fees.... ;)

Well when he pays the damages he might not be able to afford to go to watch Ireland for a few years ;)

Bohs had the cheek to sing "your only a small club in scotland" ???? last time I looked Pittodrie was in far bigger and better shape than ****mount. dopes also had their "big club" flag up???? Newsflash for bohs: EVEN DUNDALK ARE A BIGGER CLUB THAN YOU!!!!
Looks like someone's been drinking Maxi's spare petrol...
if rovers were playing aberdeen would there have been trouble? the answer is no! we would probably be having a few pints with them after tha match etc.
Wonder what odds Paddy Power would give me on that - probably about the same odds of Italy winning the Six Nations, Ireland winning the Cricket World Cup AND Shels winning the Champions League all this year...

Standard response. You will get the full response in about a week. You will get standard guff about reporting what was in the paper...

More importantly, did anyone fine Alan Hunter:confused: If we fine him retroactively for every stupid comment we could make millions!:)

Afaik they've been trying to get some of our fans to go on air to state our grievances re Hunter, but luckily said Hoops are not that stupid. Fat head Ryan would then manage to squirm his way out've things. All the talking will be done by the legal team :)
Expect to hear something about this in the near future, SRFC have been working behind the scenes in relation to clearing this up!

Good news from Rovers - let's show those muppets we mean business when they try to pick-up ratings through knocking our league.
On the Huinter issue - the bottom line is that he is able to perpetuate the myth of his position in the absence of any alternative.
If there was a fan body that could present itself to the media as a credible and genuine alternative, then he would find himself being slowly pushed into the obscurity he deserves.

Did you mean to ask "could the NLSA serve a purpose.?"
I think they about as representive as Hunters ficticious organisation.
They are as representative as people want them to be. Open membership, publically announced AGM... what do you want a supporters organisation to do? Ring you up to get your opinion?

There was, and I suggested we stick with one in existance. If you keep starting anew, you never get anywhere. NLSA meet with the FAI, have press contacts since the tickets scare and have a LoI bent. A new organisation would have exactly what?

I know - and you know that I know, as we both contributed to it ! :D
I'm happy to do whatever I can do for any fan body, but seeing as I'm London based there is little I can do to get one started (I tried with the NLSA, and that hasn't progressed to most people's satisfaction).
Is there anyone based in Ireland genuinely interested in setting up a fan body (a request, not a question) ?

Yawn. Read my last post on this. Also look up the word ratings.

I think SR need to tackle the real issue of crowd behaviour and stop tilting at windmills.
